   went for a birthday - told the server several times ... she brought out desert for other ppl - not the bday boy - (we had to ask for something for him) after we had discussed bringing out a bday dessert for him. I tipped well but I felt like I shouldn't have.

   Unique style of burgers, most are listed as two patties, but each is a thin patty, if you want it medium rare, they combine the two patties into one. The truffle fries are outstanding. The burgers aren't huge, but due to the varied ingredients, can be filling. The decor is basic and therefore if they are busy, it can be extremely noisy if you aren't sitting outside (if available). It is loud enough that you can't hold a conversation with the person across the table. This particular night, people came in with their youngsters and the adults pretty much ignored their yelling and misbehaving. The corkage fee is $10 and it is reasonable for this type of restaurant. If it wasn't for being able to make a reservation via Open Table, I doubt that we would have gone. This restaurant would not rank high on our list of places to return to, but we would. The waitress was good, she made sure our orders were taken, checked to be sure all was OK and did a very good job.

   Made a reservation for 6 people for dinner before a show at the Civic Arts Center. Great service and delicious food! Highly recommend!

   Would have been perfect but for the bizarre corporate policy of not offering hot drinks on the menu. Never heard of a restaurant unwilling to serve a customer a cup of coffee. Very very odd!!

    I have to say that at first I was skeptical about having an "impossible" burger. But I am now a believer, and the way Umami Burger prepared the burger was scrumptious! The service was wonderful - polite, prompt, and engaging. He answered our questions about food choices, and bantered with us briefly. The food was fresh, well prepared and, as the name states, filled with umami flavor! We will definitely go again and again, and recommend it to our friends.
