Was a very busy night and they could not handle the crowd. The food was good, but I wasn't blown away. Really cool eclectic vibe though.

Highly recommend taking the time to check this restaurant out. It is fantastic. The chef, David Temple, aka, "DAT" is a wonderful eclectic creator of yumminess. His flare for taking ordinary ingredients and turning it into something extraordinary shouldn't be missed. It is sheer artistry. Don't miss it! Try a house cocktail. Fantastic! Service is fantastic with staff who enjoy what they do and like interacting with the guests. What a treat. No snobs at the door at this place!

In the middle of the edgy Deep Ellum neighborhood, Twenty Seven is a real find. Interesting menu, perfectly-prepared food, delicious and inventive cocktails, and impeccable service all combine to provide a dining experience that in Dallas one would expect to pay much more for. Chef/owner David Anthony Temple (Chef DAT) has assembled a menu and staff that make you truly glad you came, and if you go once, you'll definitely be back. Don't miss: lobster poblano soup, Ahi tuna crudo, braised short rib, pork belly Stay late for: eclectic bands on Friday and Saturday nights

The setting is hip with a just enough tables to make it cozy but still bustling and energetic. Our waiter Ken was knowledgeable and friendly but not overly obtrusive. We were a bit surprised that the actual food was sub par considering how cool the place is and the great reviews we've read about Chef Dat. A bowl of nuts nothing fantastic, corn muffins that I make better at home, and scallops that were anything but pillows of savory marshmallow goodness, they were tough and not delectable. The soup left something to be desired, maybe it needed rice or a starch. Anyway we had a great time at this restaurant, the ambiance is cool but the food just did not make the cut.

Twenty-Seven is a place driven by the vision, creativity, and charisma of Chef DAT. He brings the cheer and irreverence of New Orleans coupled with the flavors of the bayou mixed with local flavors from local gardens and farms. He makes everyone feel welcome and has a staff that buys into the whole theme thus they are a team bringing delight and some of the best food you will taste in a long time. Get there soon.

This was our first visit. The food was very good and the atmosphere of the facility was quaint and a bit eclectic. I would however offer some advice from a seasoned diner. Be prepared when you open for service. Initial impressions are critical when trying to build a clientele and if there is confusion right at the start it causes frustration. Have sufficient inventory on hand at all times and whatever you do don’t substitute anything without first consulting the customer. Trust is essential if you want return business. Make the menu easier to understand. If it takes the server 5 minutes to explain how it works and my attention span is only 2 minutes we have a failure to communicate and the odds are pretty good my order will be minimal. I looked at the menu online prior to coming and even after dining I’m still not totally sure what you offer. I can't decide if your intent is to offer fine dining or casual dining. If it’s the latter there are multiple establishments in DE that will be competing for your business. If it's fine dining you have to set yourself apart with more than just good food. OK…that’s it for my critique. I do believe you guys have potential but if you want to be taken serious you have to step up your game. You can’t exist in the DE market without an affluent following willing to pay $$$$ versus $$. I’ll try you guys again but my expectation is the kitchen service, table service, and bar service will all be ready to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

This was our first time here and had an amazing experience. We tried 4 different cocktails, each of which were unique and delicious. Plates were small, which I liked because we got to try more things :) Everything was so good!! Great service. Great food. Good prices. And the bathrooms were pretty awesome too. We will definitely be back!
