   This is a lovely place to have good food and a relaxing time. Small but food is so delicious you do not care about the size of restaurant. Perfect date night place for me and my husband.

   While the food was excellent, the service was lacking. In my 10+ years experience with Turkish culture, I've never experienced such a lack of hospitality or friendliness, especially in a restaurant.

   Extremely nice people made flaws seem like fun instead of an annoyance. We were the first people in the place at dinner time (pre-theater), and we each ordered a glass of wine. We then watched as the manager and waiter searched high and low for the corkscrew — apparently the ONLY corkscrew. Ultimately, the waiter had to run to a nearby store to buy a new one. But through it all, the staff was so nice about it and clearly felt so bad, that it was hard to do anything but roll with it. Meanwhile, as we waited, our appetizers came out, which were delicious. The spinach pies in particular are worth the trip — light flaky dough surrounding spinach and feta, piping hot and shaped like small taquitos or spring rolls. All the food was excellent, though a touch on the bland side. This was remedied easily by asking for a bit of hot sauce, which gave the lamb with baby okra just the right kick. Overall, an excellent dinner at a bargain price.

   Turkuaz was a perfect restaurant for our needs. We wanted a casual moderately priced restaurant with tasty food near to Carnegie Hall. The portions were generous and the salmon in grape leaves was moist and well-seasoned. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure that we were able to make our performance.

   Everything was good but we were not notified until we arrived that they do not have a liquor license. Had we known before, we would have brought wine as there's no liquor store near by.

   Food delicious, nice presentation. Very clean. Waiters efficient, pleasant, attentive. Very impressed. Will return.

   Great Turkish food, loved the selection of fresh made cold appetizers and the Levrek fish (seabass).

   Perfect for a pre-show bite, this hole in the wall, authentic-feeling Turkish restaurant is a nice relaxing meal with unusual flavors. Would also be great for a chill evening meal.

   We went for a pre-theater dinner. The food was delicious and the service gracious and accommodating. We will certainly return and will recommend to our friends.
