   This is one of our favorite restaurants. I took my wife and my in-laws here and we all each got the tasting menus. They got Yakitori and I got Kushiyaki. The service is excellent and staff is friendly. The chicken is fresh, they butcher new chickens in front of you daily and then keep the skewers fresh in the fridge until its time to cook them. The menu is amazing. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

   This is my second time at this restaurant. The first time I sat at the counter and it was a smooth and delicious dining experience. This time, my husband and I were hosting another couple. The service (besides the Somm who was excellent - personable, knowledgeable, helpful) was really off. I had to ask for things multiple times before receiving them, water glasses were not refilled without asking a couple of times, one of the servers were surly with us for no clear reason (maybe just having a bad day), and we had to ask several times for the check. The food is so good it makes enduring bad service worth it, but next time if we go I will definitely go back to the counter.

   Excellent food. Great choices and if making a decision is not what you are into, the chef does a great job of that for you! Every yakitori stick was better than the last. Then the matcha creme brûlée was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.

   Counter seating was not that exciting. We didn’t get any giblets as part of the tasting. Took way longer than necessary for tasting menu, hence, lots of waiting between course. Not impressive at all.

   All services we got were professional and awesome. Food was great and not pricey at all. Toriko NY is def the restaurant I would love to recommend to all my friends.
