   Food was improperly prepared - they lacked the proper ingredients for the saganaki so it would not flame and the pita served with it was burnt. Service was very slow even though we told them we were going to the theatre after dinner. The special cocktails were insipid. Everything was overpriced.

   Today the restaurant did not have alot of things on the menu, which was a little dissapointing. However, what they did have was very good. As far as service goes, they were shorthanded tonight, but, we weren't in a rush. Overall, the experience was very good and we look foward to return when the menu is full and they are fully staffed.

   Best salmon I’ve had in Bloomington. Service, food, atmosphere, all excellent! We’ll be back! We want to try the patio in good weather.

   Because I was the first person seated, I had the place to myself for a short while; but as other parties came in, the noise level remained conversationally comfortable. The spanakopita appetizer was outstanding. The lamb shank entree was very good: a good portion, well cooked, very tender and juicy. Serbed with orzo and a few Greek olives on the side, it proved altogether filling, and I passed on dessert. The wine list was limited but suitable, and included a Greek red (although, for those who might be looking for it, no retsina). Service was first class.

   Great overall experience! It did not disappoint! I have wanted to go for awhile and was visiting my son who goes to IU. We were able to get same day reservations which was a plus. We both enjoyed the food, ambiance, and friendly staff. We ordered 2 appetizers: shrimp cocktail and the Saganaki cheese. Both were very good. For dinner we had the Grilled Chicken skewers and Salmon. Both were excellent. For dessert we had Baklava and fried donut holes that were both scrumptious. I can’t wait to take my husband back sometime. The only criticism I can comment is that there was a party of 12 at the restaurant at the same time so our meal was quick before they ordered but our dessert took awhile and it ended up being a 2 hour dinner but i didn’t mind because it was quality time with my son.

   Disappointed in the amount of food and the overall experience. The server admitted that a large party was being served but even with the massive delay, no special accommodations were made. Servings were so small, that we ordered dessert, which was half frozen. Still hungry after that. Other tables were also complaining. Pours were small with the drinks. Ordered a beer that had so much foam, it settled to 3/4 of a serving. Expensive meal to leave dissatisfied.

   Our recent experience at Topo's was awful. We had been there before and had pretty good food and service. We had a reservation for four and were promptly seated, but in the bar, which was crowded and loud. After a long wait, our drink and starter order was taken. At that time, we asked if we could be moved to one of the open four tops we could see in the dining room, but were told no because they were being held for those with reservations! We spoke to the manager and explained the we too had reservations, but were again told no. After being seated for a little over an hour, we received our drinks. After another 30+ minutes (without the appetizer being served or opportunity to order our main courses) we found the manager and asked for our check. She promptly brought it and made a big show of not charging us for the undelivered appetizer and comping the two soft drinks we had consumed (i.e., requesting "only" $23 for the two mixed drinks we had received in over an hour and a half). As we were leaving, she said she would reverse the $23 charge since we were clearly unhappy, but when we received our credit card bill yesterday it was still there. We weren't surprised. We walked across the street to Scottie's, where we were promptly served a good meal that almost got us back on our schedule. The server was great and the food and drink was a good value. (Note that the 1 star rating for food is meaningless, but required to submit the review.)

   Wonderful location and ambiance, but food was nothing special and not worth the price. Drinks were great.

    We had not been back to Topo's in a while because of some bad past experiences with service and food. Friends wanted to try it and so we agreed to meet them there. This time, they were not out of anything, the food was served hot and on time, and the service was attentive--perhaps because we were the only diners in the restaurant. When we were ready to leave, the hostess and servers had all disappeared, so we went into the coat closet, got our own coats, and left our claim tags on the podium. Some other customers entered as we were leaving and asked us where the hostess was and then showed themselves to the bar when no one appeared.
