Top of the Gate is closed for the season. We will see you in the spring!

The energetic and sophisticated rooftop bar and lounge at The Watergate Hotel has views of the Potomac River, the Key & Arlington bridges, and Georgetown. It is the perfect place for an after-work cocktail or the season’s most talked-about event.

Parties of 8 to 19 are subjected to a $100 minimum per person. This includes separate reservations that are together. By making your reservation(s) you agree to these terms. If we close for the day for any reason (such as weather), all reservations will automatically be cancelled, and an email will be sent to alert you.

There is a cancellation fee of $50 per person. See our cancellation policy for more. We can hold your table for 15 minutes before we release it & charge the no-show fee. Should you have questions you may call our reservations team at 844-617-1972 or email us at dining@thewatergatehotel.com.

Great views. Service was good. Rooftop could do with some design help. Drinks were ok. Could be a much nicer destination with some effort

I've heard bad things about this place but the view was gorgeous and service was great! our table wasn't ready on time due to issues with the firepit, but it was well worth the wait at the bar for such a nice table and view. drinks are expensive (especially for using plastic glasses) but not significantly more than other dc prices as long as you stick to wine and beer. you're paying for the view and it was worth it, even as a dc local who's seen the skyline a thousand times. my family visiting from out of town loved it! thanks for taking good care of us!

$303 tab! 22% automatic gratuity!!! After ordering, told as other food arrived that all pizzas and falafel was not available, which is what we ordered. So had to reorder as others had their food. The replacements, terrible! Burger sliders had no flavor, dry! Our server was a super nice person, but also had the entire roof top to deal with herself. So no wonder that things got jacked up. And for that price, $303!!!! Where’s the service?!?! I do not recommend this experience!
