North End restauranteur and Chef Anthony Caturano (Prezza) opened Tonno in June of 2016, in downtown Gloucester, the oldest and most historic seaport in the United States.

Tonno, which is Italian for ‘Tuna’, blends together some of Chef Caturano’s favorite culinary styles, rooted in coastal Italian cuisine and influenced by the rich New England waters nearby. Signature dishes like tuna tartare and half roasted chicken are offered alongside Italian classics such as Seafood Cioppino, and Tagliatelle Bolognese, with all pasta made fresh in house. Local oysters are always available, shucked to order.

The beverage program at Tonno consists of classic Italian cocktails, house infused spirits, and a selection of craft beers. From the vine, Tonno’s wine list boasts an impressive, curated list of around 150 wines, focusing on Italian and California varietals.

Private parties available upon request. Reservations for dinner strongly recommended.

    Best restaurant in Gloucester, MA...Homemade pasta was perfection & fish was expertly prepared...my wish is to try to dine here at least twice per month...Elegant food & service without being pretentious..Donot miss the appetizers..

    Everything was as expected-it is our favorite place in Gloucester. The only thing that could be improved is the oysters. They are usually some of the best I’ve ever tasted. This time wasn’t at that standard. But everything else was excellent.

    Best restaurant in the area. Food is always superb. Get mix of dishes and share! This is the only place we have “many” favorites.

    The food was excellent. The service excellent. Cocktail excellent. My husband and I went around 5:30pm and that was peaceful. Around 6:30 REALLY LOUD. We will go again the food was that good.
