Tom's Urban is named for Founder Tom Ryan, recently listed as one of the "Top 25 Food Entrepreneurs" of the last quarter century by Gourmet Magazine. His team sought to create a dining experience offering innovative, yet familiar dishes alongside a creative bar program. Situated at the gateway of Larimer Square, Tom's Urban is an experience unlike any other. The menu includes America's most iconic dishes served alongside regional specialties found only in Colorado. The menu is scratch-made and features everything from benedicts to burgers, urban tacos to seafood Pot Pie – all with an urban twist. The restaurant uses locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible and partners with some of the area's finest farmers and purveyors.

My friend’s food had hairs and a bug in and their lettuce was wilted! Really disappointed

So.....I'm sad to say that Tom's has changed. I used to love this place and loved coming here with friends, before or after a show (we do theatre downtown). But apparently 3 weeks ago (according to our waitress) they changed the menu. What an understatement. The entire happy hour structure and menu options shrunk, including the portion sizes -- except for the prices. Their street tacos used to be a real highlight - lots of options, large portions. Now, much smaller tacos and only 3 options. VERY disappointing. And very few items included in their happy hour now. Paying $13.50 for 3 little tacos about 5" in diameter and therefore very little food inside them is a ripoff, pure and simple. I'm from NYC, so I'm used to paying outrageously for very little food, but not here in Denver, sorry. I'll be going elsewhere going forward unless they change their current arrangements. Pity, I really loved going to Tom's for years.

In Denver for a convention and found Tom's Urban on Larimer Square and reserved a table for that night. No need. The food was mediocre, the service was mediocre, and the ambiance mediocre (maybe I should have said "fair-to-middlin'" rather than mediocre but it is what it is. It was fine for a quick bite to eat, but I guess I expected more. Why did I expect more? This quote on the website (presumably from Tom himself): "I traveled the world to take the sights, sounds, tastes and culture from as many places as possible to bring them to your table. I received a PhD in Flavor and Fragrance Chemistry, was named one of the Top 25 Food Entrepreneurs of the Last Quarter Century by Gourmet Magazine, and dedicated my life to creating dining and drinking experiences that linger long after you leave." Tom's Urban doesn't live up to this standard.

Took over 45 minutes to get our appetizers. It was not busy. No need for reservations. Will not return.

My family and I went here for a quick pre show dinner, and the service was OUTSTANDING. Our server was a wonderful person, and she paid excellent attention to our table while still allowing us the space to enjoy each other's company. The food was magnificent and the drink specials were great. I definitely recommend the fish tacos and the brussel sprouts. We were all perfectly full, and were practically licking our plates clean.

The atmosphere is depressing. Felt like a college campus cafeteria. Music blasting and various “viral” videos and ads and sports on the numerous TVs. The food was mediocre. The service was friendly but bizarre. We ordered sliders, a salad, and the steak. The salad came out with 2 other various items. Clearly there was a mix up of some sort and we were not told what happened. Only that it’ll be out shortly. 20 minutes later the chicken sliders and steak came out. No explanation. They took a beer off our tab to make up for it. The server was friendly as was the other guy, who did not introduce himself but might have been the manager(?). We will not come back here again.

We have been here before and we feel that the service and food has slipped a little. Calamari were way over cooked. Balance of our order was good. We will come back another time and see if this was just a hiccup the day.

The change of the menu is underwhelming. This is no longer a go to place for me.

Went for brunch, enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and an omelet. Good food, meat dietary restrictions and was a great location. Will go back.
