   We turned up half an hour before our booking time to be told (in a not a very nice manner) they were closed for a private function. We explained we had made a booking to then be told we hadn’t as they had called everyone who had. Still waiting for the call. We did make the booking on the same day so maybe a communication error however for the rude girl on the door is the reason we won’t be back.

   Food and service was very good, as it always is at this restaurant. The price is also very good and makes eating there, great value for money

   Friendly helpful staff in a relaxed family atmosphere. Good value carvery.

   Although I did enjoy my birthday carvery meal, I was however extremely sick afterwards. Have been before and had no issues, so unsure as to why I was so very unwell. Have not been feeling well since Saturday and still having nausea. Awaiting response from you.

   It was with extreme disappointment that myself and two friends arrived at the agreed time of 18.45 on Wednesday 4 October to find that there was no booking for us. After much searching on a computer we were told that our booking was for the previous evening and had been marked down as a '' no show ''. This was despite an e mail from Open Table on 3 October confirming our booking for 4th. After about 25 minutes we were found a table and found that we had to join a queue behind a party of about 30 people who had just arrived. I always have the turkey from the carvery and was extremely concerned that on arrival at the carving chef I was informed that the turkey was finished and there was no more available. This was before 8pm of an evening. I reluctantly selected another meat and continued with the meal. I live locally and have used the carvery regularly in the past but now I am disillusioned with the treatment we received especially as nobody would accept that the mistake was that of the carvery. I am concerned that if I were to book again through Open Table I will have a '' black mark '' against my name through no fault of my own. A thoroughly unacceptable situation and a poor evening with my friends.

   Beautiful meats and veg. Need a better salad option than cold meat on a salad. This does no service to the salad or meat! How about just a nice side salad to add to the hot food? Service was great and this is a great value for city dining.
