Tijuana Picnic is a Mexican restaurant on the Lower East Side from Jon Neidich and Jean-Marc Houmard, managing partners of Acme, and designer Robert McKinley. A menu of high quality ingredients with non-traditional flavor accents transforms casual Mexican fare into bold, balanced and surprising dishes of fine dining caliber. The owners sought to create a neighborhood restaurant for the Lower East Side that is both fun and sociable with food that is sophisticated and approachable. Chef Alex Lopez, formerly of Kittichai, leads the kitchen and is influenced by his 16 years of experience cooking in acclaimed New York restaurants-riffs on flavors of his native Mexico City with non-traditional accents.

The food was pretty good, but the drinks were not. I was expecting great drinks and tried almost everything off the menu in hopes to find at least one but no luck.

We loved the shrimp tacos and guacamole. The ceviche wasn’t great. The cost of food was very good but drinks are pricey. We had a great time. Our server was fantastic!

Came here for dinner with a friend during our visit to New York. The vibe was a little quiet when we first walked in but throughout the meal more and more groups started coming in. We ordered a few things to share and really enjoyed the fish taco and the corn. Great place for dinner before a night out!

Great food but not enough for the price. It was too pricey for the amount of food. $12 for ONLY 2 TACOS? SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️
