The newly renovated Windlass Restaurant features contemporary Italian Cuisine overlooking beautiful Lake Hopatcong. It is a family oriented establishment focusing on fresh and imported ingredients to provide expertly composed dishes from the various regions of Italy. The state of the art kitchen includes a wood burning Tuscan grill, brick pizza oven, and raw bar. In addition to the cuisine, the Windlass will have an international wine selection with a focus on regional Italian wines, a contemporary cocktail menu that follows the current trends in spirits, and classic, seasonal, and some local craft beers. Other amenities include alfresco dining, antique porch-promenade, private party room, and cocktail lounge area featuring a Chris Craft style bar. On-Premise events can be held in the Windlass Private Party Room or, on occasion, in a portion of our dining room. Kim Heineman is available to discuss your next event at the Windlass. Kim is also a Front of House manager at The Windlass. She has a complete understanding of how the kitchen, staff and building work best together. Kim will help you plan your menu, organize details and suggest room arrangements as well as offer a host of extra enhancements to make your event as easy to plan as it is memorable for your guests.

The restaurant was accommodating. Our table was originally in a very noisy section of the restaurant near the bar. The staff provided us with a table in a less noisy area. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious.

The windlass offers quality food and many menu choices. (Be sure to try the pizza). The view is spectacular, the restaurant in situated on the water. Friendly staff, friendly patrons. You can dress up, you can go casual. Go to eat and you won’t be disappointed. Live music on certain nights, loud enough to hear low enough to enjoy conversation at your table. Excellent experience.

Love the newly renovated Windlass! Bar is lively, service is amazing and food was delicious, great menu options! We went there for our 24th anniversary and my 55 Birthday, definitely becoming our favorite place to celebrate! Can't wait to go by boat soon!

Great food, although my appetizer and entree were both spicier than I expected. But it is just TOO LOUD in the revamped Windlass. I'm glad they ditched the horrendous carpeting and vinyl booths, but something needs to be done about the noise level. I could barely hear my companion sitting next to me and my husband across the table was totally lost to the conversation. Of course I'll go back--we live right down the street and it is beautiful--but it is one NOISY restaurant.

Second time here. Wow awesome dinner. Prime Rib special is delicious and hugh piece of meat. The view of Lake Hopatcong is great! Can't wait to go back!

Had not been here since it was renovated and reopened by new owner. Tried to get in during the summer, but should have made reservations. Have been here two times since, and all I can say is WOW! When we complimented the waiter about the vegetables, the chef came out to thank us. Cozy, warm, friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Went for the Oktoberfest. They did a great job with the food, even the red cabbage was awesome! If there was some German Music it would have been perfect! Save the recipes we'll be back for it next year!

This is our second time going .. request a table close to the window and advised them it was my boyfriend's bday. It was a perfect setting and our server was perfect... she came out with a candle on the desert and just made everything perfect.
