A café by day and smart brasserie by night, The Wet Fish Café & Brasserie is the perfect setting for cosy, romantic meals or lazy weekend brunches. Set in one of London's historic 'wet fish' shops in West Hampstead, the original Art Deco wall tiles and eclectic interior create a warm, neighbourly atmosphere. It is a hit with artsy West Hampstead locals who enjoy good jazz, cocktails and the Wet Fish Cafe’s own brand of “modern comfort food”. The seasonally changing menu is short and satisfying: it includes fish, meat and veggie dishes. Classics include the crispy squid with aioli, pollock with smoked lentils, chorizo oil and green beans, and rhubarb, ginger and almond crumble. The Early Bird menus are terrific value. Either pop in for pasta, fish or tapas between 4pm and 6pm with some truly enticing offers, or order by 7pm and return your table by 8pm for an irresistible deal on the prix fixe menu. And Early Bird offers are available all evening every Monday evening.

We visited Wet Fish on a miserable Sunday evening ,cold and soakingly wet.We were led to believe that 8.30pm would be the earliest booking we could make for dinner.On a hope and a prayer we set off for West Hampstead and reached the restaurant at 7.30.Fortunately,the lady on the desk found us a table for two.We were immediately warmed by the ambience and friendly staff. The same lady,from Italy,was very helpful with the menu.Service was excellent and the food also. A very enjoyable evening.

Charming restaurant with an interesting menu though limited. Lots of fish - but not if you dislike shellfish as this seemed to be incorporated in most. But on the whole a good place for a quiet night out.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. They certainly have it right and it is great to have a local eatery that is so good and reasonably priced. Staff are super friendly, the atmosphere warm and buzzy - the restaurant was full so one would expect some level of noise.

Food was amazing, everything we had especially the desserts. The service was perfect, attentive but also left us alone to chat all evening! We would definitely go again and recommend this restaurant to friends and family
