   Had a lovely Sunday lunch with friends who hadn't been there before and they thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter and her partner have booked to go this Sunday on our recommendations.

   Very cold restaurant, lacked atmosphere. Had sold out of cheesecake for nearly a week. Steak had to go back was raw in the middle. Very disappointing

   I am very sorry you were so disappointed, we had left the pub in the hands of an experienced bar manager and recommend chef, whilst on holiday for that week. It would appear that they did run the business as we had hoped. can only rectify this by asking you to take a chance and return now we are back to experience the pub at its best. As will see from previous and later reviews our customers usually describe their experience as excellent we look forward to welcoming you on a repeat visit

   It was our twentieth wedding anniversary the only fault I had was they didn’t have the starter that I wanted but I had my second choice which was excellent, and I ordered a desert which again they didn’t have, so my only criticism is make sure your customers know before ordering if you haven’t got certain things on the menus but everything else was excellent.

   Went for Sunday lunch. Very warm greeting given menu plenty of time to study this. Food ordered and delivered to table. Outstanding quality I had lamb my partner had turkey ample vegetables and all of food really hot and tasted lovely. My one Moan is no serving spoons available for vegetables and as nobody available to request these we used our desert spoons which in turn meant we had none for desert. The lack of attention to us was dissappointing, as high quality of food was superb. We will definitely visit this venue again and hope this was a bad day for our server and not his usual standard.

   Thank you very much for taking the time to review your visit to our country 'pub' hence drinks at bar, so glad you enjoyed the food, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. With regard to the poor service I do apologise as you say 'he' I assume it our 'new' young lad who served you. It is our practice to take all dishes out with serving spoons and to check tables once served. Thank you letting us know so we can ensure further training and guidance. Generally our service is excellent.

   Good quality food, reasonable prices and great beer. Chris the landlord was good company as were the dogs! Great country pub

    Friendly welcoming atmosphere,this seem to rub off on other guests whom chatted pleasantly with us as well as all around. Food was delicious,the squid that I had for starter was cooked perfectly ,no rubberiness at all,my husbands mussels was also great. Main course of lamb excellent as was belly pork,only complaint was that we were to full for pudding. Loved the welcoming of dogs also,will bring our little dog next time ,great place.
