   We expected an exceptional meal based on the menu for this one-time meal with Woodford Reserve served with each of the 4 courses. 1st: crab cakes which were mostly filler 2nd: excellent salad of spring greens 3rd: lamb chops: fatty, served with boxed scalloped potatoes and frozen mixed vegetables 4th: overcooked derby pie but the ice cream and bourbon ball helped. SO disappointing at 125 per person. SHAME ON YOU CAFE

   We were at the Cafe for a Woodford Reserve dinner. The decor was all Derby with lots of red accents and of course, roses. Our opening cocktail was a winner and so were the crab cakes which were our appetizer. Our salads were a fresh spring medley and the main course was lamb chops, which were yummy. The bourbon pairings were spot on and Vanessa and her expert staff did a great job of making everything go smoothly. Honestly, the dessert was my favorite part. Derby pie topped with homemade vanilla bean ice cream and a bourbon ball on the side. It was a special night and the Cafe made it happen.

   We had a Woodford Reserve bourbon pairing dinner at the Cafe. Everything was amazing. We will definitely be going back for a “normal” dining experience. Can’t wait!

   The food is always good. The staff is always miserable. None of them appear happy to be working. We waited around 5 minutes to be seated. We sat outside at one of three tables, it was nice outside but our waiter only came to the table twice. I had to go find them just to pay.

   I used to come here before they got renovated and was small and cozy, loved it then and love it now! The chicken wings were a huge hit at the table for appetizers, and not sure what sauce came with the fried green tomatoes but it was delicious! I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection, although i’m happy I got a side of asparagus since the side of greens was a small bed for the salmon. My sister loved her burger and fries, all around a good experience! Brunch on the patio will remain my favorite time to come here though :)

   We were greeted at the entrance by the manager (Ray) who was super friendly and attentive. Great personality. Our server came by to introduce herself and take our drink orders. She was very helpful with those selections and her suggestions were perfect. I sadly do not recall her name but she was just fantastic and so was her helper Alexa. Both were so professional. The atmosphere was great and the food was very good. The chips and queso and Brussels sprouts along with the Peachy cocktail were the highlights of the evening. We will be coming back.

    Always reliable. The Queen Anne (Benedictine and Bacon and Cucumber) is the best and a KY tradition.
