   The Tasting room (Uptown Park) is a wonderful place, EXCEPT . . . The ENTIRE parking lot is coned off for valet . . . if you want to park your car yourself, it's NOT an option (except for a few street spots in front)! When I asked a manager about that, he said that the valet company is a separate entity from The Tasting Room. Either a very lame answer, or they need to get some control over valet because it's part of the overall "customer experience". I chose to sit on the patio with a friend. After about 15 minutes, I ended up going inside to get served. They supposedly have staff that covers the patio, but the only ones I saw were clearing tables. Very dissappointed with the experience at this location.

   They were out of two cocktails and four of our wine choices. Not much "tasting" possible with such poor inventory management. The pulled pork sliders were great, but the accompanying vegetables not very pickled. The pizza was SUPER bland and lacking any salt. Despite the reservation, there was no hostess, so just wandered around. The bartender said they didn't take reservations and we just needed to wait for a table. Waters were never refilled and waitress had limited wine knowledge.

   I met a group of friends for a Sunday night dinner and wine. I tried this place on a recommendation from a friend. I believe the menu that was offered online was different from the menu options we were offered. The wine list was good and we enjoyed several bottles of wine. Most of the food was very good although the selection was limited to appetizers, pizza and salad. A gluten free pizza option was offered to a member of party that required that however it was over-baked and it was returned to the kitchen. It also seemed that the wait staff did not really understand gluten free since they said the crust was darker due to it being whole wheat, obvisiously not gluten free. We were not offered any wine tasting or any specials either so I'm actually not sure why it's called the Tasting Room.

   Overall an incredible wine list and an elegant menu. I especially liked that our server was able to provide us with a taste of one of the wines sold only by the bottle - it was perfect and we sincerely appreciated him going that extra step! We did indeed purchase the bottle and truly enjoyed our evening. The only drawback is that the service dropped off somewhat as the restaurant became busier but the second server brought in to assist the first one was able to meet our needs. Overall an excellent experience with great wine, a well thought out menu, and excellent atmosphere!

   The food was great! Service was lacking though and there was no one there. This could be why there lunches are slow.

   We visited this restaurant with a friend to celebrate a belated birthday and to talk. It is a mix of bar and eatery, skewed a little toward the bar scene. On the plus side, the food was tasty and appealing and consisted of sampler-style plates to share and mostly light entrees. The wine list is extensive and varied. On Saturday when we visited, there was live music that was pleasant and not too loud, so that we were able to talk comfortably at first (7 pm). Later as the bar scene picked up (9 pm), the music was louder and conversation was difficult. On the down side, the attractive outdoor seating, where we first sat, allows smoking in accordance with Houston ordinances, and after moving indoors we still occasionally could smell cigar smoke from the outdoor area. The wines were on the expensive side, even those on the short list of barrel wines. So this is a good place to visit to sample a variety of wines while listening to music and nibbling on food, but not if smoke bothers you or you are looking for more of a dining scene and less of a bar scene.

   Very disappointing meal. The meatballs, sauce and French onion soup was burnt. The Bruscetta had no flavor it was really a terrible meal considering all the dining options in houston. Go elsewhere

    It was the first time we had been there and with a large group I figured the service was slow but this place exceeded my expectations. The drinks and food were excellent. We will be going back in the future.
