A Truly Special Dining Experience at The Tap Room at The Mayflower Inn The Tap Room at The Mayflower Inn has become one of our go-to spots for a refined yet warm dining experience. As soon as you drive up the manicured drive, the sight of the lush lawn leading to the Shakespearean garden sets the tone for what’s to come — a place where beauty and care meet in every corner. The farm-to-table concept shines here, with ingredients that feel handpicked from the garden and thoughtfully prepared. The seasonal dishes always impress, offering flavors that feel both fresh and comforting, perfect for any occasion. Whether you're enjoying a simple salad or something more indulgent, you can taste the quality of each ingredient. It's clear the chefs care deeply about their craft. What makes The Tap Room even more special, is the service. Jenya, Jonathan, Jillian, and Kurt consistently go above and beyond to ensure every meal feels personal. Their attentiveness, paired with genuine warmth, adds an extra layer of hospitality that you don’t often find. Whether it’s recommendations, a special request, or just a friendly chat, they make you feel right at home. Every visit to The Mayflower Inn feels like a little escape — both for the palate and the soul. It's a place that we will continue to return to, and each time it somehow feels even more special than the last.

What a delight! The restaurant boats a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was wonderful, from the minute we met with valet, coat check anf server, all staff members were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, we enjoyed the spaghetti with lobster, the roast beef, risotto and Brussels sprout salad. Deserts should not be skipped, we ordered 2 and especially enjoyed the butterscotch crème.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the ambiance and warm reception. The facility is lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. However, great wait staff and comfortable atmosphere alone cannot provide a great dining experience. We were warned that the place was great but the food was eh. “Stick with a burger and you’ll be fine”, my sister exclaimed. We read the menu ahead of time and thought it all sounded so amazing. Fine ingredients, imaginative combinations. What could go wrong? It almost seemed as though the kitchen and bar were run by a different organization. Drinks were slow to arrive and not as ordered. You must take the “salted” in the salted cod fritters seriously. The bass for two was undercooked and inedible and served in an unnecessarily fussy manner that did not enhance the experience. The Caesar salad and the wine were the only saving grace, as the chocolate cake lacked the essence of its name. Our waiter did a fine job and we tipped accordingly. It’s pretty clear that this is a special facility and good service does not happen by accident. The problem is clearly in the kitchen and we hope that can be addressed, as we would enjoy giving the Mayflower another chance.

A female wine server was dishonest during our visit. We brought our own bottle of wine and decanted it, leaving about one-eighth of the wine in the decanter. She didn’t even inquire about the leftover wine. Suddenly, she rushed back to the kitchen with our bottle. The manger came to apologized for this incident. It was disappointed it.

Always fabulous. Always gorgeous. Tap room is the best. Dining room is not well decorated. And the decor is cold and institutional. A major misstep for an otherwise perfect setting.

Enjoyed a really delicious meal in the Taproom. The Salt cod fritters were a nice start to our meal. Light and crispy outside and inside you get the delicious flavor from the cod. Our entrees were the cavatelli pasta, mushroom risotto and ocean trout. All delicious!! Service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. A wonderful evening!
