   My husband and I ordered the Georgia style chicken and took home enough for 3 additional servings. It was delicious as served in the restaurant, cold at home, and reheated. We were a little confused about the side choices. It does say "3 chef selected sides", but it didn't click with us that that meant we didn't have a choice. We wanted the corn bread and fries and paid a little extra for those. Our waitress was in training and did a good job. Because the soup arrived when our chicken did, we were told we wouldn't be charged for it, so that was professionally and immediately addressed, which we appreciated. This restaurant is a delight and we will be back. (We've also dined there for lunch and found it equally outstanding.)

   Overall, my experience at Tandem wasn’t very good. First, the restaurant is very cute. I loved its charm and decor. We waited a little longer than I would have expected for service, but we were patient. It appeared that the server was handling a situation with another table. She came by to apologize for the wait, so that was nice of her. Once it was time to take our order, I don’t recall the server telling us her name or asking if we’d ever been there before. I always appreciate little things like that. The food is really where everything took a downturn. We started with hush puppies. Unfortunately, they were the worst hush puppies I’ve ever had. They were flavorless and tasted of just plain cornmeal. There was some accompanying butter which made them palatable, but we couldn’t finish. Our server recognized that we didn’t really care for them and informed us that she knew they were bland, however some people like that. I wish she would have warned us when we ordered so we could have been prepared or made a different decision. Then the main courses. I had the two piece Georgia fried chicken, and my wife ordered the oxtails. The chicken came with chef’s chosen sides (macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice, and coleslaw). When the food arrived, the oxtails looked great, but the chicken was some of the smallest pieces I’ve ever seen. My thigh was around the size of a larger chicken nugget. I was very disappointed with the little pieces. That said, the taste of the chicken was excellent. It was crispy and seasoned well. The sides were just ok, with the red beans and rice being the best, but i would want to eat anything again except the chicken. My wife’s oxtails were pretty good to me, but she wasn’t too fond of them. Our waitress felt bad that I didn’t like anything, but she didn’t offer any consolation or other accommodation either. I wanted to love Tandem, but i couldn’t. If i go back, I’ll just stick to chicken and fries, maybe cornbread. Good luck.

   Enormous portions. Nice mix of healthy and home cooking. Pork shoulder with dressing is better than mom’s.

   Side dishes were very good service was also good Georgia chicken was dry over cooked Memphis was burnt and rock hard
