   Very disappointed this time large ham egg and chips twice about 12 chips on each plate the men’s faces were a picture roast pork hardly any potatoes were bits meat on top followed by gravy so soggy potatoes if you like Yorkies it’s fine

   The wait for food was far too long, and it wasn’t packed either . I’ve never had to wait that long for food there before . We booked in at 430 , all had 2 courses each , didn’t leave til 7. We had little ones and they were so hungry . The staff were all lovely I just don’t think there was enough staff on ! They were all apologetic and made sure we were ok ! Just waited far too long

   Table booked for 12 noon and we arrived a little early. After we sat at the table (I had to change my chair with one from the next table as it was so dirty), we waited and waited for someone to bring us a menu so I went to the bar to ask for one. At this point the 3 of us were the only customers. One of the staff was sitting on a table near us working on a laptop so when were were ready to order I had to get up and ask if we need to go to the bar to place the order. She said "I'll take it now". We felt we were a nuisance! After placing the order we waited quite a long time for the food to appear and when it did it was 'average' at best. The menu was basic, no specials board either. After we'd eaten our meals we waited and waited for the dessert menu so, yet again, I walked up to the bar to ask for it. We then asked the member of staff how long we would have to wait if we wanted dessert as we had an appointment at the garage to collect our car. She was unable to give us a time and clearly she couldn't care less either! So we decided to go without. During our meal 2 men arrived and sat at the table next to us - they were looking at the menu and then they got up to leave again. We overheard one say to the other "l'd rather go get something from the chippy". Sensible man, that's what we should have done! The worst place we have eaten in for a very long time. And the most unfriendly staff too. Just awful all round.

   The food was excellent. Just from a personal point of view I would have liked the people serving our table to be dressed a bit smarter - actually a uniform would be nice.

   Lovely place. Good delicious, atmosphere really lovely and staff all very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it and will be back.

   Fabulous food with a choice of vegetarian roast which is so unusual when eating out. Vegetables cooked to perfection!

    Second visit here in a fortnight and once again it was very good. The food was superb, my eldest granddaughter is vegan and commented on how good the mushroom risotto was, I had veggie lasagne which was excellent. All the food was delicious and well presented and all very generous portions. The two ladies running the bar were great, not only serving at a busy bar but waiting table and clearing as well, doing a super job. No hesitation in recommending The Swan Hotel for a good value and tasty lunch.
