The Surprise is a beautiful gastro-pub tucked away in the heart of Chelsea. A hidden gem just a stone's throw from The River Thames, Battersea Park and the famous King's Road serving expertly prepared fresh, seasonal and local produce alongside a superb range of cask ales, a world class wine list and delicious cocktails!
Our famous Hamilton Room is available to book for private dining, drinks receptions and also as a meeting room, please get in touch to find our more.

    Lovely character. The battered fish was amazing. I didn't care for the giant chips myself. Could have a better selection of zero alcohol options.

    We had a lovely evening at The Surprise, and the food was outstanding. Service was welcoming and friendly and the staff were efficient. We have dined at the Surprise several times in the past few years and it never disappoints.

    A cozy little spot that was rammed with locals and their dogs upon entry, but that only added to the pleasant pub atmosphere. The food is excellent with very friendly staff, though the scallops special should perhaps be listed as a singular delicious scallop.
