   The place is extremely cosy, with a fireplace and a picturesque interior and exterior! The ambience is so welcoming and the food is nice.

   A typical old rustic pub. Good for drinks but roast dinner was cold and they ran out of all puddings apart from one.

   Bit noisy, but friendly staff and good food. Close to all tourist points of interest.

   Family reunion with in laws not seen here from US since 2009 so was hoping for a good reliable meal which was what we got! Excellent service and great food... happy to recommend and will definitely return.

   Came here for a casual evening meal with drinks. Sadly, Timothy Taylors Landlord was not available on draught so had Bass instead which was just OK. It was busy on this Friday evening so service was understandably a bit slow. Big selection of starters & mains from both the blackboard & printed menu so we all had a mix, everything was good & the portions were generous. Staff were extremely polite & attentive - couldn't have asked for any more from them on such a busy evening.

   A super evening at the six bells. Challenges with service were very visible- and especially given the good weather and the football. If they get this latter topic right I would have scored a full 5 stars!

   Overcharged or overpriced? Visited Sunday 17 June at 4.45pm (but not for Father's Day) £113 for four roast beef dinners (£14.50 each = £58) , one child's ice cream and two rounds of drinks (3 pints morretti, two halves moretti and four ales). My husband paid the bill, but I should have checked it. In terms of the food, just two roast potatoes each that tasted like frozen rather than fresh. I don't think the mixed vegetables were fresh, but frozen. I guess it's too late now to query the bill but maybe it could be looked at by Six Bells?

    Enjoyable atmosphere despite being a quiet night. Good choice of mains and puddings although the crumble was more of a solid topping. The chilli was spicy unusual in pubs I find. The fish and chips universally liked. I am sure we will return in the future.
