The Shrub & Shutter is a contemporary British restaurant and cocktail bar serving bar snacks, a la carte, daily specials, experimental cocktails and a small wine and beer list.
Pop-up chef duo 'Boustead and Bidois' head up the kitchen with a menu of
modern British dishes made using seasonal produce, teamed with some Shrub style cocktail pairings.

We came for a birthday celebration and were assigned to table in the back where they also serve food. We were about eight people and all had drinks when a man with a strong French accent referring to himself as the manager, said we had to leave the table. He said it was reserved and the guests would come soon and we responded that that was fine as we were heading elsewhere shortly. He did not accept that for an answer and he kept repeating that we had to leave in the next 20 minutes. The whole thing escalated and at one point, he was shouting at us – threatening to kick us out. He was rude and the whole group felt it was a very was very unpleasant experience. Definitely, not something you would expect in a service establishment. We finished our drinks and paid but by the time we left, the guests had not yet arrived. I would not recommend this place unless you are up for a public shaming from the manager. Shame since the waiters were friendly and helpful and drinks were nice.

Really unpleasant experience. Booked a table for 22.30pm to dine, was told on arrival that the kitchen closes soon so we had to be quick to make a choice. Felt pressured to pick the sharing menu, which was overpriced and nothing special. Cocktails are also extremely overpriced for mainly just large chunks of ice, all the pretentious bells and whistles but not as good as you'd expect for £12 a time. The waitress was lovely but given the overall experience we didn't tip, the service charge was enough on top of the already ridiculous bill. Won't be going back.

Wanted to try something different for a girls night out and this cosy spot more than provided ! Staff couldn't be more helpful navigating the amazing & extensive cocktail menu. The sharing menu was fantastic and we couldn't finish all 3 courses between us. Definitely a find!

Awesome place to eat! Very different from most places with a welcoming laid back environment. Incredible cocktails and even better food. Not to be missed.
