   The Open Table booking wasn't picked up by the Ship Inn so they weren't expecting us. Other feedback indicates this happens regularly with the Ship Inn. They did find a table for us but it was at the very back of their overflow restaurant. We were the only people in the room for nearly 20 minutes and it lacked everything that you expect when eating out...people and atmosphere. I might as well have stayed at home! That said the food and service were pretty good. DON'T use open table and book early enough to ensure you get a table in the main eating area or bar if you want an enjoyable dining experience.

   Lovely Sunday roast and friendly service . The Ship Inn doesn’t look as attractive as it could from the outside but the restaurant has been recently renovated/decorated and we really enjoyed our meal

   Not expecting us as they claimed no open table notification. They found us a table however. Good food especially my wife’s special sea bream Great desert Would visit again if I was in the area

   I had dined at the Ship whilst on holiday last year and was impressed so booked again from home prior to my holiday this year a few days in advance via Open Table. When my party of seven people arrived on time at 6.30. we were told there was no trace of our booking. Luckily I had printed out our confirmation and a table was then found for us. Not an impressive start and this was followed by a very middle of the road menu, not nearly as varied as the previous year. Needless to say I won't be returning or recommending to a friend.

   I love the ship, the staff are friendly and mainly the food is good, however be sure to book especially at the weekends we have been caught out before when suddenly they stop serving as too busy.

   They have spelt the name of this inn wrong , it should be renamed the Sh-t inn the food was disgusting , 2 attempts at trying the get the food right and still failed . I should have heeded the reviews I had already read .

   Initial contact had to be prompted as far as service for drinks was concerned ( after a 15 min wait ) , after that service was good and food was good . Note to owner , when you employ young teenage people to serve they do need a bit of guidance not their fault just teenagers in general , after prompting they were great and a appropriate tip was left .

   Staff were pretty friendly, but one of the main meals was brought out about 15 minutes after everyone else's. No apology or explanation, or attempt to make good. Food was nice enough but nothing special. They were missing half of the items from the menu (not ideal on a bank holiday weekend when they should be expecting higher demand!).

   Unfortunately the pub did not recognize my reservation through open table. Staff were abrupt and unapologetic when I got there. Despite the place being half empty they said they were too busy to feed two people, even in the garden. It’s one of those places which is good on advertising but poor on delivery; I heard similar from locals afterwards and regret not booking somewhere else.

    Went for New Years Eve - unfortunately sat by the kitchen and next to a young couple who complained a lot, but other than that our food was really good and the service was also good.
