   Food was good and very generous portions, however we waited over an hour to get our meals. Staff behind the bar were friendly and helpful but it looks like they were understaffed in the kitchen

   Very comfortable and welcoming pub. Great selection of food and the lamb rack was cooked to perfection. Probably the nicest lamb I’ve eaten. The arancini was also delicious. For a small country town this was and excellent location for dinner. I also enjoyed a lovely pint of Guinness

   We thought the food was very delicious, well presented and good value for money. The staff were great also.

   Everything was very nice, almost all staff where wonderful. One staff member with dyed purple or pinkish hair was incredibly rude, snatched glasses, rolled her eyes when another staff member asked her to pour us a drink, all in all a miserable individual. The remaing staff, many of them Irish I think where absolutely wonderful. All in all I rate the royal very highly.

   We were on a driving holiday with long drives of 10 hrs both sides of our stop in West Wyalong. We went to this hotel because of good reviews . We were totally amazed at what a gem it was ! I’m now home and trying to replicate the fantastic lamb rack. The girls that were behind the bar were fantastic . My French martini made by the Scottish girl was exceptional and great value for money. I would drive from Adelaide to The Royal just for the Meal !!! I would have given 5/5 but the night was soured when hearing a man who I think was the owner berate his Australian staff member that she couldn’t pour a Guinness correctly . I understand people need training but perhaps a more quieter and empathetic approach would have been better .

   We regularly travel through the town, first time eating at this pub and it exceeded expectations. Food was quality and portions were great, craving coffee at 7:30pm and machine was still open. Will be back!

   Good menu to choose from and good wine list. Very helpful and friendly staff. Well presented and prepared food. I really enjoyed my lamb rack which was cooked to perfection.
