   We enjoyed dinner but don't overlook the snacks as part of your meal at The Rose, we had a selection instead of a starter.

   We stayed at The Rose for two nights, we had dinner booked both evenings. Unfortunately it fell short on expectations. Service was poor, the staff couldn’t answer questioned on the food and had to find out from the kitchen. I had the schnitzel and my husband had the hake. There were no jersey royals available at 7:20 as a side so we had to have chips. Two bowls arrived with our main we only ordered 1, but assumed it was a gesture. The hake was nice a fraction overdone, but it lacked the right side. The Schnitzel was huge, quite thick, and full on. I could only eat half. Overall the meal lacked finesse, the service lacked knowledge and warmth. We were charged for two jersey royals at £12, this had to be changed to chips x1 for £4 which caused more confusion. The menu is small and as a result of not a great meal we cancelled our booking the following evening. Breakfast however was superb as was service at breakfast.

   The Sunday roast is absolutely delicious. The piso sauce escalates it above all other roasts making it exceptional. Quite pricey though but the ambience, styling & relaxed atmosphere make it all worth it.

   We had a wonderful celebration dinner at The Rose. The food and cocktails were superb and there were some interesting dishes on the menu using local ingredients. We loved the orange stuffed gordal olives and Parker rolls and the cherry sour cocktails.

   Anywhere, we had the yellow table which was conducive to brilliant interaction over dinner and then a game of scrabble!

   Amazing meals chosen from a varied and exciting menu and cooked to perfection, then presented beautifully. Staff were new but charming and helpful. We stayed and breakfast was equally sublime.

    Our stay at The Rose was beyond expectations. The room was exquisitely decorated, we could have a bath whilst listening to a record and relax before going down to the restaurant to have the most scrumptious dinner. The Rose is also located on the most beautiful street in Deal, full of lovely independent shops and a wine bar where we could enjoy a nice glass of Rioja in the sun. Staying at The Rose was a delight and definitely worth going to Deal just to stay there, a real treat!
