A disappointing experience from a place I’ve been to numerous times, which leads me to wonder if it’s under new management. Long delay before order was taken. My wife was then given the wrong dish, so we all were nearly done before the right one eventually came out. (They took 10% off the bill as an accommodation.) Food was good but pricy for lunch. We paid $86 (after the discount) including tip for 4 people with no alcohol. We may give it another try, in case this was an aberration.

Having been to The Rice Barn several times, although not recently, we had the same expectations as we usually would for this place....delicious food and top notch service. Every restaurant has a bad night every now and then and this night was a now! Our server seemed to be a novice at best. We ordered drinks and he told us he wasn’t great with drink orders. I waited 20 min for mine. Our calamari arrived cold. I sent it back via the manager who apologized profusely. He brought it back and it was piping hot. The remainder of our order was excellently prepared and was delicious. We will certainly go back, but may not be as patient the next time!!!

After waiting for 2 hours, we never got our food and had to leave. Our 4 kids were starving and everyone in the restaurant walked out - without food.

Simple but tasty food at this Needham Center restaurant. Comfortable. Service can be spotty, but slow delivery of my main course was delivered with a drink on the house. Can't complain!
