    Join us for our second Guest Chef Dinner Series Event! This series hosts local and international culinary talent, giving both established and up & coming chefs a platform and space to share their cuisine with the Denver Community. We are proud to present Chef Manny Barella who will be serving up a 6-Course MexItalian Menu for our next dinner on Thursday, May 1. Chef Manny Barella: Chef consultant, private chef & girl dad Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, Manuel (Manny) Barella took a leap to leave law school and enrolled in a culinary program to pursue his true passion. His natural talent and drive led him on a journey that landed him in kitchens including the luxury Sea Island Resort in Georgia; five-star Napa Valley resort Calistoga Ranch; and Napa’s Michelin-rated Solage Resort. A taste for adventure drew him to Boulder, Colorado, where he earned a position at James Beard award-winning and Michelin-rated Frasca Food & Wine as Chef de Partie before taking on the position of Sous Chef at Uchi in Denver and eventually Executive Chef/Partner at Bellota. In 2022, he was named a James Beard semifinalist in the Emerging Chef category. Demonstrating his commitment to helping others, Manny serves as the President of the Hispanic Chefs Association in Colorado, dedicating his time as an ambassador of authentic Mexican cuisine and donating his talents to organizations focused on fostering culinary talent in the community. In the spring of 2024 Manny was a contestant on Season 21 of Bravo’s Top Chef, one of the premier chef and cooking television competition shows, finishing in the top five among 16 of the brightest and best in the nation.

    The Regular is now doing monthly guest Chef dinners. My party throurghly enjoyed the dinner prepared by up and coming chef, Carolina Zubiate. Looking forward to attending the next one in April.

    If a restaurant only has the option of prefix for $95 a person, not including drinks, they need to make that very clear when booking tables. We would have never paid $200 before drinks and tips and never booked this restaurant if we had known it was a prefix menu. Prefix is the laziest and most rip off thing a restaurant can do. Also, last I checked, Valentine’s Day is one day a year. Not a whole weekend. So saying on your website you have a valentine’s prefix menu doesn’t imply that that menu extends to the 15th. More than disappointed and we walked out. Plus, when we called and asked where to park they suggested the $30 lot above them. Which charged us $30 when we left 15 minutes later because they only allow a 10 minute grace period. Although the 10 minutes was still marked as $10 on their sign.

    Ian, we apologize for your disappointing experience at The Regular. While did run a Valentines Day menu through the weekend, we also offered all three menus (3 course, 5 course, and vegetarian alternative) featured items as a la carte options which accounted for 80% of our menu being available to order as usual. If you would have communicated your concerns with our wait staff, we would have been happy to work something out for you and your wife based on her vegetarian needs with the kitchen. Instead, you verbally berated our host staff in a completely disrespectful manner with a concerning level of anger. We do not own the parking garage above or have any control of the rates, it was simply an option to park there. You are always able to park on the ample street parking for a lesser rate.

    Way over priced. Paid over 300$ for a three course meal and two drinks. The first course was six oysters, the second course was three singular scallops, and the final course was a mini chocolate dome. Took over three hours for the whole experience and only got checked up on twice throughout the whole time we were there. The ambiance was nice but not worth what we paid given the service and amount of food/drink.

    The food on the fixed 5 course menu for Valentine’s Day was absolutely amazing. Very well done. We had a nice bottle of White Rioja and it paired nicely. Craft cocktails were also excellent. Service was probably the only thing that needs improvement. New wait staff weren’t familiar with courses, and the timing was a bit off. Still super friendly!

    For the price we paid I would expect more food. There were three options tonight, which was not communicated in the reservation. We were expecting to walk in for Happy Hour and instead had to choose between a $99 meal, a $125 meal, or ala carte add ons. We decided to splurge since we were there anyways and got the 5-course meal. We observed the portion sizes of the 3-course meal and realized we had made a mistake. The first course was two bites. The second: 4. The third: 2. The main course was mostly potatoes. The dessert was the only portion remotely close to what I’d expect. We paid $28 for the duck add on and got two small strips. $28 dollars is the price of an entree! The food was good, but it was hard to leave happy when we paid far more than we expected and left hungry.

    Exceptional! A wonderful blend of flavors that perfectly highlight Peruvian tradition with a modern flare. The presentation is unique and the portions with the heartiness are spot on. The ambience is very swanky and perfect for an intimate date or gathering of friends. Price point is in the high end, but it’s worth it in my opinion. We’ll be back without a doubt!
