   Excellent traditional English pub. Good food, good beer and a very friendly atmosphere. Added bonus: Dog Friendly too.

   Very good, we dined in the Bar with our two dogs and it was excellent.

   Very disappointed, steaks very tough ,when commented on them were told they have no control on what comes in! Ordered 2 puddings and 3 coffee's ,2 coffee's arrived when asked for the 3rd told we had ordered only 2! 15 minutes after ordering the deserts waiter returned to say there was no sticky toffee pudding -asked why could we have not been told earlier, reply" we have been looking for them in the freezer!" On the positive the fish and chips were excellent. Would try again but be more careful on our food choice and expect a long wait and hoping we just picked a bad day.

   Enjoyed the steak. Would of liked more side food as there was 1/2 tomato , 2 crunchy onion rings and a few leaves for the price they are asking. After booking through opentable when we arrived they had not got the reservation. It was very busy but lucky they did have a table free. Would not of been impressed if that had not been the case. The waitress was great.

   The Red Lion is a chain restaurant/pub with a family feel. The food is always good and there are plenty of beers on tap. I have not been in the evenings for a number of years, but the lunchtimes are reasonably quiet and service is good. We meet up with friends and usually end up spending a couple of hours over lunch. If you have a Gourmet Card, you get 20% off during the week.

   Very disappointing meal was not anything special. I had Veal steak which was cold very fatty and tough. Would not recommend going to this venue. Very disappointed customer.

   If you ever visit this pub , make sure you don’t stay over 3 hours as they haven’t sorted out the parking here. One of our party got a parking ticket through the post & the red lion staff did not appreciate the seriousness of “ just ignore it” advice or how stressful it is getting a parking ticket through the post demanding money ASAP. Took 2 phone calls & a drive to pub to ensure parking ticket cancelled. No recognition by the pub or the staff of how this spoilt our evening out & no refund/ voucher etc offered in way of apology. Shocking customer service. Staff could not care less it seemed

    We were a party of 5 and we are regular visitors to this pub when we arrived we were shown to our table which we were not happy with when we asked to move the waitress was rude and abrupt and said no all the tables were reserved but we asked another member of staff who said choose any table we had to ask the table over from us for menus and waited approx 20 mins for order drinks we ordered to be taken food took approx 45 mins to arrive which were all hot and tasty at no point were we asked if we wanted more drinks or if our food was ok at one point we saw approx 5 members of staff leave the restaurant area for approx 30 mins what we believe is the upstairs area of the pub which left 1 members of staff behind the bar . we had to go to the bar for more drinks along we the customers as there were no staff . When we were leaving we could not find any staff to pay the bill too we could of easily just walked out without paying but we are good people and payed at the bar.... WE are regular visitors the this pub and don't normally experience this type of bad service .
