   Unfortunately the menu was much reduced as they had been expecting a delivery that morning which hadn’t happened. We both had steak and chips which was ok.

   Really want to like this place but on the last few visits the service has really let it down. Just too relaxed. No urgency around taking orders. Having to ask for water more than once, having to go and find someone to take our orders. Get that blonde girl in from the cricklade club...great meet and greet and attention to make you feel like there is some sense of order. Food however is always decent. Just needs a bit more focus.

   On the whole, we enjoyed our Sunday roasts. The vegetarian pie was very good, plenty of vegetables but unfortunately the pork was a disappointment being very fatty, more than normal. My partner chose the pork and beef roast, maybe just a pork roast would have had better slices. But all in all, we enjoyed our lunch, the service was attentive without being intrusive and we had a good glass of wine and we would go again.

   A super country pub kept authentic as it's part of a national trust village. The food is very high quality, and is presented beautifully. Local beers and ciders are available and tasty.

   Really lovely old pub. The food was good. The choice was quite limited though. Rhubarb cheesecake was delicious. The 2 young people serving drinks and food did an absolutely brilliant job as they were rushed off their feet and apart from a chef, were left to run the place for the evening apparently.
