   I booked this restaurant on good faith, drove 40 minutes only to find it closed!!! I think they should have informed OpenTable that they were closed rather than letting people continue to book when knowing the place isn’t even open!!!!! Not happy!

   The Restaurant called to change the seating time saying they were very busy. Obviously they were not prepared for the busy occasion (Fathers' Day). It took ages to get the food served and several items were sold out - the waiter had to come back several times to say the items we chosen were not available (from starters to desserts). Food came out lukewarm. Dinning area small and needs updating completely. I like to help local, small business but sad to say I will not be coming back to dine at this restaurant.

   We came with high hopes for a great evening. Very disappointing. Service was fair to poor, mainly because the two poor soles who were running the bar, serving food and taking orders where overrun. There needed to be more staff on for a Friday evening. We ordered the salad with roasted Mediterranean vegetables and the scampi. The salad turned out to be some lettuce with hot ratatouille on the top. Not at all what was described and fairly unappetising. The scampi was poor and low quality. We wouldn’t recommend this pub to anyone as it stands, however it has bags of potential and with the right chef and management could be amazing.

   We had a great company lunch here. They catered for 8 of us at very short notice. All food arrived together and was yummy. A great selection of meals and lovely accommodating staff.

   The Queen's Oak Itself was great! It was Open Table that let us down! No reservation appeared to have been made, despite my confirmation number! Fortunately the Manager was able to find us a table on a very busy Sunday lunchtime, especially as we had an 88 year old lady with us!! I am very disappointed with Open Table, and will not be using them again!!

   Great country pub, authentic atmosphere, nice log fire. Good pub food and drinks.

   Been here manys time , very good food and nice atmosphere. Sadly on this occasion we booked through open table all sorted or so i thought , within the hour the Queens oak rang to say they couldnt accomadate us as they where fully booked. Not sure where the blame lays here partly me for not booking sooner . Having said that the booking shouldnt of been comfirmed .Open tables fault or Queens oak ? who knows no explanation given Of course i would highly recommend and i will still visit

   Our meal at the Queens Oak was delicious. Family of four. we all had roast Beef which was amazing. The Beef was superb. The portion size was good. Very well presented and tasted great. We followed by amazing desserts, again presented well and very delicious.. Drinks were good, nice cold good draught Guinness Lovely red wine with our meal. A perfect end to our weekend. We will be back again

    Two adults, two children made a late minute booking for an early dinner while on holiday in the area. Staff were lovely. Food was great - nice menu and arrived in time. Great value. Atmosphere was cosy but lively. We had a happy / relaxed meal.
