   We go back to the Prune every year. Service is excellent. The food is always creative and outstanding. We get the three course meal so we can enjoy something from every category: appetizers, mains and desserts. Thank you for another lovely meal.

   Like going home to old friends you haven’t seen for awhile. Exquisite food and friendly charming service. Did not disappoint. What you need to know is you will pay a bit more here. And you should. This is slow prepared food in a quaint heritage house. Not every room is the same nor should it be in a heritage house. Bravo on an excellent season!

   Both we and a few other diners we met by chance the next day remarked on the quality and creativity of the food. For me the wine pairing was the special point, all very hard to fine and wonderfully crafted wine that perfectly complimented the dish. The prune is not inexpensive but when you need a special dinner you will not do better in Stratford or anywhere on a couple hours drive.

   Always a creative menu, good but pricey wines and imaginative desserts. We make sure we book for dinner every time we come to Stratford.

   The food was well prepared, well presented, and well paced by our attentive waiter. It was a very fine meal. We will add this restaurant to our list of go-to spots for a fine dinner when we are in Stratford, ON.

   My all time favourite Stratford place to dine. Exceptional menu and wine pairings in a simple but sophisticated venue.

   Sorry, but their prices are getting bigger and their portion are getting smaller and their choices are get weirder. Not for us any more.

   Despite the fact that we've lived in Stratford for several years, we'd only visited the Prune once, for an event dinner. This past Saturday we went as a couple--and the experience was simply perfect. The food was extraordinarily good--clear, rich, bold flavours, well-balanced and beautifully presented. The staff is warm and friendly, and of course the setting is very lovely, in a modified Victorian house that gives one a glimpse of a cozy garden outside and offers comfortable seating within. And the bar knows how to make a proper Whisky Sour--something that seems to be vanishingly rare these days! We were very pleased.

    There was something a bit odd about dining here.. the food was good - maybe very good - but the sense you got was that they thought it was better than you did. Kinda like they were trying too hard - some aspects were just over the top fussy but honestly we've had better meals elsewhere for not nearly the same $$$. We had the 3 course fix prix (the smallest selection) and with one glass of wine ($18) plus coffee, tea and tip the bill came to over $250. It just didn't feel like we'd had that kind of a dinner. We won't be back.
