   As always great service, and a friendly comfortable and safe place to enjoy great real ales and great company. Staff are always very friendly .

   N.b. Ignore the score for food because the kitchen was closed, however I have to put a star rating by the food to continue to the next part of the review…… Firstly, as always the welcome, the service and the general “feel” was excellent. I was well looked after, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and felt like a valued customer. However, for the first time ever, I have to express a concern about the beer. As always, I order from the guest ale list, and my first pint of a guest pale ale was slightly cloudy. It tasted ok, and as is my habit, I ordered a different beer as my second pint. This was a guest IPA, and it looked like dishwater. I queried it and was told that most of the guest beers were cloudy and I could return it if it were poor. It was very poor, and I returned it, choosing a pint of porter as the replacement. Sadly the weather was dull, so I couldn’t easily check the clarity, however it tasted fine. Anyway, to end my lunchtime “watering”, I decided to opt for a pint of London Pride from the “house ales” list, which I know should be crystal clear if it’s in top condition. Sadly, although it again tasted OK, it was clearly slightly murky, so it would appear that this venue needs to pay a little more attention to its beer stewardship and piping cleanliness. I will be back, because I value the service, staff, atmosphere and choice of ales, however I do hope that on my next visit the issue with the murky ale will have been fully understood and addressed. Based on this last visit, I would not recommend this pub to a friend, however, normally it is a pub I would be heartily recommending.

   excellent service, love the new extended outdoors with separate smoking section. Wine has improved (we are not beer drinkers) and will definitely return with other groups of friends to sit outside.

   No half-baked app, just friendly staff. Beer as good as ever. A very pleasant evening.

    No food served due to Covid but the evening was great. Once again our dog was catered for with a dish of water and there was very little wait for our drinks order. Staff so friendly and pleasant
