   The port has not been open for Dining for some time. The port is open for drinks only. I would strongly suggest you stop taking reservations for a non existent Dining experience. The St. James staff was shocked when I said I had a reservation to eat at the port. I had to show them my confirmation to prove that I was not crazy. So you might say that our dining experience was less than satisfactory. My overall rating would be. “ 0 “

   First of all, the hotel and restaurant employees were fabulous! Open Table needs to know that the Port Restaurant does not serve food, so the reservations are useless. They due offer a very nice charcuterie plate. They were able to get us into the other restaurant at the hotel so it worked out well.

   I have been to the Port many times over the years. I was unaware they were basically closed because of Covid. They make excellent drinks and the service was superb but not having a full dinner menu really disappointed us. I will NOT be back until the Port is back. Also losing Jimmy’s Pub which also added to the atmosphere of the hotel. St. James Hotel will suffer greatly until those two huge draws return!

   Although not fully open for full dining, it was nice to just get back into that great ambiance and have a couple prohibition style drinks. As always, longtime bartender Lori was gracious and makes you fell special.

   We enjoyed our stay, just far enough away from home to feel like a mini-vacation. It's a blessing to live in this part of the country and have so much to explore right in our own back yards!

   This is a lovely place with a great atmosphere for drinks and dessert. They were not serving food at the time of our visit, but the menu items available were delicious and definitely worth trying. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone coming to visit Red Wing, MN.

   currently they don't have food except for a cheese/meat/bread tray, but that was amazingly good!!!
