   If you had to celebrate your 39th wedding anniversary, I can't come up with a better experience then what we had at The Place. The staff was just so exceptional and the food was the perfect match for the occasion. Everyone was just so kind, friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making our evening so very special. We are going to miss all of you!

   Wonderful place specially for romantic dates. I have been coming to the place for years and it never disappoint is too bad they are closing their doors. So if you haven't eaten in this amazing restaurant I suggest you do it now.

   I took my girlfriend for her birthday recently! The ambiance was great, stone walls, dim lighting, candles on the tables, etc. It's a pretty small place, nooks and back rooms, small tables. The service was great, our server was very helpful with suggestions and took great care of us. The food was incredible! I was so torn between everything on the menu. Will definitely be going back for another special occasion to try more. Only caveat being the price (easily $20-$30 per entree), but I would say it is well worth the cost. Totally would recommend to any and everyone!

   The experience was okay and I appreciated the highly seasonal menu, but not sure I'd ever go back. The service was slow and they seemed to be overwhelmed - staff was also stuffy along with the patrons. Just not my scene.

   We were only for a few days in NYC with my husband, and this place was a very good fit for a nice dinner located in this great neigborhood. I will recommend this place.

   We had a very nice evening here, celebrating a family graduation. The room is attractive, stone walls and nice lighting. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was all delicious. The complimentary glass of champagne for the graduate was a special touch! Will look forward to coming again.

   Very accommodating host. We were running late because of traffic and called David to say we would be delayed. He was perfectly understanding. We were seated promptly on arrival and service was friendly unobtrusive and efficient. The menu is a bit limited but what's on there is well done and well presented.

   While attractive and warm, The Place feels 15 years out of step with other downtown restaurants of its price point. From the typeface on the menu to the menu offerings themselves, the restaurant could use some freshening up. We had a nice evening catching up with friends, but it was immediately forgettable.

    This is a wonderful place to dine. We started with the Kale and Spiced Roast Cauliflower Salad
 with sweet potato and the lamb meatballs. Both were delicious appetizers. For main course, we had a new item the pork shoulder that was very tender and not too fatty as pork can be. The cod had a crunch skin and was served over a whipped celery root puree. It was not a large portion. Both dishes were beautifully presented. It is a real treat to dine at The Place. Service was excellent too!
