The Peppermill is a 2AA Rosette award wining restaurant situated in The Peppermill Hotel in the centre of Devizes. We have a range of fresh fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes on our menu which changes seasonally.

Our open kitchen is always a delight to many of our regular customers.

We also have a cocktail/wine bar offering an extensive range of drinks, including 100 different wines, 20 by the glass, a range of cocktails, 40 different Gins and draft beers.

First time at the Peppermill and it was everything we hoped, we were there to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and professional. Will definitely return.

It took over an hour from time seated for the main meal to arrive (we only had "while you wait" before main meal). When served some of the food was not hot. The reason give was a new menu that night, but with (as far as we could see) only 6 tables we would have expected an experienced chef to be able to cope.

Steak was deliciously cooked. We were an early evening booking so it was quiet. Wine was reasonably priced and pretty good. Very enjoyable.

The waiting staff and food itself were excellent. However it seems every time we visit they are short of kitchen staff. Once again we waited 90 minutes for our starter. Then, like buses, 4 tables were all served their starter together, including two who had arrived sometime after us. Disappointing.

The decor is very pleasing to the eye and everything is clean and orderly. A nice selection of wines and Sunday lunchtime menu offered a lot of choices. I ordered the vegetarian Sunday lunch and was asked if it was vegan or vegetarian, which is always pleasing. A lovely meal with attention needed when required, but also freedom to take as long as needed without the feeling of being watched or rushed.
