   It seems the management had left. Food was ok but once again the place was cold and draughty

   We chose the Peldon Rose as it was a country pub setting that we were looking for and the we had eaten there before - the food was lovely.

   Lovely old building and open fire. Easy parking. Didn't much like the foam escaping from the seats in the bar made it seem a bit tatty. Friendly people and good service. We found the conservatory rather noisy which made it difficult to communicate between 3 of us sitting on a rather large table. Nice choice of wine. Only had Carlsburg on draught larger. Food was nice but a limited choice.

   Loved it, great food, great service. It was for my birthday with my partner and 2 friends. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Friendly staff and nice, relaxed atmosphere. Will come again.

   Excellent food, gourmet burgers are amazing. Nice open fire, friendly relaxed atmosphere.

   We were exploring Mersea island for the weekend and the Peldon Rose is perfectly located with comfortable rooms (not luxurious but clean and well-equipped) and a great pub-dining area with surprisingly good food featuring local ingredients and a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Dog-friendly too.

   Visited the peldon Rose near west Mersey for a friends birthday. Had a lovely well presented meal plus the chef even did a special dessert for my friend as it was his birthday which I thought was a very nice touch. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the setting very comfortable. A very nice place.

   I enjoyed my Kofta starter and my partner quite liked the pate. Great steak main but the monkfish dish with sag aloo was dry and not particularly tasty. I left half and thought it was a nice idea but badly executed. I mentioned this to the waiter to have us our bill and he apologised and said he hoped they could make it up to us next time. I don't think we will be returning, unless it's for steak.

    Food was good just a shame about service Waitress was very nice but had to wait for menus even wine menus thought we had been forgotten & also table to be cleared after main course & had to ask for desert menus even & also ask for coffees & the bill even though the restaurant was not full at the time Only once at the main course did the waitress ask if the food was ok to which it was but thought it bad service management of staff
