   Beautiful venue, staff were pleasant enough, however it wasn’t very clean, and toilets were grim. It looked like they had an event the day before. carpet dirty and confetti in places. Toilets were not nice at all. Rooms didn’t look like the rooms had been cleaned thoroughly before inviting guests to dine for afternoon tea. There were table cloths and empty bottles of alcohol in the gardens under the arches, which was also a shame as these things only take moments to clear. We did have a dietary requirement of no fish, however the alternative given was a sandwich with slice of avocado, slice tomato and lettuce leaf, which was a very odd choice as a replacement. We weren’t offered any options to accommodate the dietary requirement.

   Excellent high tea and service, booked a table in the bay window with a lovely view. Very old house with great character and history.

   Sandwiches ok, cakes disappointing 1 mini what appeared to be bought in mince pie, 1 small chocolate slice and a custard (tinned/packet) jelly and sponge mulled trifle - nothing like the photos shown on website! Really disappointing, scones were nice. Service attentive and discreet. Carpets dirty in restaurant. Afternoon tea provision in need of a makeover!

   What a lovely treat! So many lovely fresh sandwiches with really tasty fillings; scones and cakes with mini mince pies for the seasonal touch. A lovely big pot of tea with a 3 minute timer for the perfect brew and a glass of Prosecco to celebrate the occasion! What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday and start the Christmas season! Such lovely staff, attentive without being obvious and patient when we were making decisions. Thank you! We will come again and let our friends know how nice a time we had!

   Staff were very friendly and accommodating, they honoured our booking even though they had changed their opening days for the winter. We found the afternoon tea to be enjoyable but slightly expensive for the quality, but this would not deter us returning.

   I was very disappointed with the afternoon tea I had booked for my husband’s birthday. I had notified the hotel I was gluten free and realise this can be challenging to cater for However, I had to send back the cake section which had two crackers on as a substitute for a cake And a tired looking chocolate brownie! The waitress was lovely and did get it replaced with alternative gf cakes, apparently the ‘Chef’ Didn’t know where the gluten free cakes were kept! The sandwiches were dreadful , one had cheese slice in with nothing else , they were thrown together. I only ate one scone , it was rock hard. The worst Afternoon Tea I have ever had !

   Food, drink and service outstanding. But There were crumbs on my seat and around the floor when I went to the table. The carpet and chairs need a really good clean or replaced. Plaster was coming off the wall and laying on the carpet.

   The afternoon tea was lovely, with a traditional range of sandwiches, scones and cakes etc. The service was very good. The restaurant was very quiet as there were few customers. The staff were professional. They left us in peace to enjoy our tea, whilst being quietly attentive. The setting is beautiful, the house is grand but maybe some aspects of the environment and decor are becoming a little worn.

    I asked a colleague for a good place for afternoon tea. She recommended Broome Park Club and Hotel. I’m so glad I took her up on her recommendation. Great place, great food, great service and a lovely ambiance. Will definitely return.
