There was a novelty factor that made it fun. The drinks were very strong.

The Sippin with Santa needs some work. Our first reservations weren't they weren't actually open. Our 2nd and actual time was okay. It's decorated sort of needs more of a tiki feel. Our cocktails took about 20 minutes to make we were the only table there and we're a 3 top. My 2nd drink tasted nothing like my first one even though they were the exact same cocktail., Sharky's 1st Christmas. 1st one pineapple forward 2nd one walnut forward. We couldn't order the Sippin with Santa food because it wasn't being served. The regular menu food was good. Hopefully it will improve if they have it again and it was first time jitters. Also they didn't advertise in Portland at all we found the Portland one because we looked at a different city and Portland was listed.

Don't waste your time. I was willing to be tolerant of the experience if the mugs were at least worth it to look at. This was a bad joke.

Avoid this place while it’s around, which thankfully won’t be for much longer! Made reservations for Christmas Day. We get the text the day before, asking us to confirm - which we did. Not sure why it all went pear-shaped after that, but it did… We get there a few minutes before our reserved time and are told that the bar is closed today. Umm..but we confirmed via text just yesterday. Yeah…we’re sorry. But we spent a fair bit of money to get here, why weren’t we notified earlier today. Yeah…we’re sorry. You know the type of sorry that is SO insincere? Well, we got that in spades when we tried to get some clarity. Nothing else though. We left, with our Christmas off to an awful start and the bitter aftertaste of bad customer service. I sent a note to the bar, and haven’t heard anything from them. Not a peep. Given our experience while we were there, we’re disappointed but not surprised. Thanks so so much, Sippin on Sick and Courtyard CC. And yes, I can be insincere too. 😘

This experience was a letdown for sure. The space didn’t lend itself to the fun, divey, tiki bar experience that the event/Instagram portrayed. If there was Christmas music playing, I couldn’t hear it. There seemed to be only two servers working the whole event, and only one bartender making the tiki drinks. It was clear the cocktails were premixed and none of us enjoyed the drinks we had. The mugs were absolutely fun, and the shishito pepper appetizer was also tasty. Those were about the only highlights. Overall, this was overhyped, overpriced, and underwhelming.

I have been only to one other sip and Santa in Seattle and it was lively and fun and crowded. Unfortunately, that was not my same experience in Portland was quiet no Christmas music and there wasn’t a lot of jolliness. The drinks were delicious.

Very disappointed, I was expecting a real Tiki Popup. The decor was dollar store quality and not much of it. The lighting was very bright and no Christmas music. I think Sippin Santa needs to vet there venues. Menu cocktails were well executed, but you could not order off menu, unless you wanted something simple, like beer. Food was pretty good, be prepared for lots of fried options. I was very excited for this to come to PDX. They have very cute mugs but were all sold out. Not planning to go to a Sippin Santa in the future.

We were ignored when we walked in and it took 20 minutes to seat us when others got seated right away. We also did not get helped for another 20 minutes after being seated. It felt very discriminatory. But the drinks and food were cute and good. The space was not what I had expected- it was a converted diner vs a bar. It seemed like they only had 3 people working as well.

Why would you allow 930 reservations if last call is at 945? Also, weird place.
