the Orange Bird is a neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Hillsborough.

Our menu will be cooked on an open fire using the best seasonal ingredients. The chef uses many things as inspiration, but the main one is his childhood growing up in South Africa - hence the BBQ, or Braai as its known there.
We are also passionate about our delicious Orange Bird ice cream, made using seasonal ingredients and a lot of love!

Our drinks menu is fairly small, and carefully chosen to complement the fire and ice in the food.

    Gorgeous new menu -love that they keep trying foods and wines from different cultures. Everything was high quality - al our plates were empty . Can’t wait to return . ❤️❤️

    We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Orange Bird. The food was magnificent and the service was friendly. It’s a cut above the kind of dining experience we expected to find in Hillsborough and we hope it thrives. We will certainly be heading back as soon as life allows us.
