   Valentines evening meal so very busy but good atmosphere and lovely dining room. Staff freindly and attentive, food good but a little slow from the kitchen due the the volumes on the night. Overall highly recommended.

   This is by far my favourite restaurant within a 'driving' distance of Swindon; the service is great, the ambience is stunning and as for the food... sublime. The braised ox cheek donut was something else and the floating island dessert was enough to make me come back again! Overall, yes, it is pricey, but you do get what you pay for, which is an exquisite dining experience in beautiful surroundings! Well worth it, to me!

   A very lovely evening, felt very festive. Lovely welcoming staff who did not hurry us at all. Food was superb. We’ll thought out dishes which were presented beautifully. A memorable experience.

   We had booked The Old Bell as somewhere special to celebrate an early Christmas supper with friends, but couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed. There was no Christmas menu so we had to choose from the regular a la carte menu. Apart from offering venison, the menu wasn’t very seasonal, offering burgers, steak or fish & chips which we could have found at our local pub. The staff were young and perfectly polite, but despite not being a very busy evening, we often had to ask for service and we waited quite a while for our courses to be served and for drinks to be brought to the table. We couldn’t fault the food but if you’re celebrating a special occasion this is probably not the place to do it.

   Beautiful hotel and restaurant, food excellent. Service from all the staff was outstanding, especially the lady we spoke to regarding booking an afternoon tea.
