The staff just chatted behind the bar in a group as if they had nothing to do, whilst one lady working there seemed to prefer to keep going out to the front of the pub to vape with her friend. Two of us had fish. The batter was burnt, there was only a few chips that looked like scraps and the peas were like bullets. We had to ask for condiments and napkins more than once. The table was also sticky. The batter left a terrible taste in my mouth. My friend had lasagne which was like a portion for a small child with a pitiful amount of salad. She paid for a side of garlic bread which was also like a small kids size portion. Nobody asked if everything was ok so when my plate was being collected I explained the problems we'd had. They spoke to the chef as there didn't appear to be any senior staff around and the chef offered a free dessert. The last thing we wanted after terrible food was more food there.

Dear Lynda, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. It’s clear we fell short in several areas, from the quality of the food to the attentiveness of our staff. Your comments about the fish, lasagne, and service are concerning and will be addressed with our team immediately. We appreciate your honesty and will use your feedback to improve. We hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future. Best regards, The New Albion Team

This venue is not for us. The overall noise level was too high and there were a lot of children shouting, not their fault, as it was very noisy. My husband ordered 3 starters instead of a main and the breaded mushroons were extremely hard. These were replaced very quickly and the staff were very good.

Dear Irene, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the noise level affected your visit and that the breaded mushrooms were not up to standard initially. We're pleased our staff could promptly address the issue. We appreciate your comments and will use them to improve. Best regards, The New Albion Team
