About this restaurant

The Moody Chef of St Leonards has two restaurants in the area with this one, the original, being on Atchison Street. For breakfast or lunch there’s delightful Australian-style cafe food on the menu, from shakshuka or poached eggs with kipfler potato and confit bacon mash in the morning, through to garlic and prawn spaghetti puttanesca bowls or fragrant chicken ragout later in the day. Of course, being a cafe in Sydney, at The Moody Chef you’ll find plenty that’s vegan and gluten-free, making it something on a St Leonards institution for all the right reasons. Reservations here are are always a good idea if you want to be sure of table, particularly at weekends.
