   Been many times before and had great food, this time food was dreadful, chewy lamb overdone steaks!! Starter of scallops was on top of cold mushy peas, bacon not crispy very poor. Would not return anytime soon.

   The waiting bar staff are great Verity outstanding. Food Below edible cabbage brown and dry puff pastry on chicken pie soft and not cooked in hot enough oven. Will not be back just yet training in cooking skills needed.

   We had dinner with a party of 7 people. The food was great apart from the chewy chicken but they only brought out 6 main dishes. When asked about the 7th they said it would be out any moment. This was repeated several times and it lasted for over 30 minutes. No excuses, just reasons that were not related to us. It resulted in 6 mains being cold and the appetite was gone. No resolution from the manager either. Questionable why these people work in the hospitality industry.

   I can't fault the food, however, the service was very, very slow. No-one seemed to want to take our order. The wait between courses was ridiculous. The restaurant wasn't remotely busy yet we were kept waiting so long, until it was time to pay, then the waitress turned up immediately. Probably wouldn't recommend as the service was not what I would expect.

   When we arrived we had to stand for several minutes until being shown to our table even though there were two members of staff nearby who said nothing on being shown to our table we were asked if we needed drinks there was no coffee because a new machine was being installed drinks that were ordered took at least 10 minutes to arrive our first food order was unavailable.

   Car park was a nightmare to park in, table wasn’t ready although we were late because of the parking situation. Food was very basic, no salad garnish and small portion. Bill was done wrong and there was a lack of staff to clear the tables around us, 5 left dirty for the whole time we were eating our dinner. Will not be coming back soon

   Pub has gone really down hill Latley! Poor service, poor food, generally just not a good place..

   Regular choice for eating out with elderly mum. Good because of lack of music meant no probs with hearing aids. Tables well lit for easy menu reading - may or may not be a good thing depending on where you sit. BUT latest visit was a bit unsatisfactory. Probs with food, moved to different table half way through meal, dirty plate, fingerprint on dessert "Thats just how its served" :-O Mumbled apologies from inexperienced staff, no discount or compensation offered. Hopefully theyve learned by the time you visit, as its an ok place usually.
