Overall a lovely evening. Staff were attentive and keen to please, couldn't be more helpful, with any minor issues speedily dealt with. Food was lovely and high quality. I'm glad we went for the three starter plate deal as the portion sizes of the main course weren't large, but I'd prefer quality over quantity any day, and the flavour range was excellent. Great pub standard dishes on offer with additional chef dishes on the new menu. Being a Tuesday night booking, the place wasn't packed and we could converse easily. Volume levels on the sound system went up significantly when the football came on the television, which wasn't really unexpected for a place with live sports I guess. Would I go again? Yes, absolutely. Looking forward to trying the carvery on one of the nights it's available.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your evening with us and appreciated the attentive service and high-quality food. It's great to know the three starter plate deal met your expectations. We apologise for the increase in volume during the football match and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back soon, especially for the carvery! Best wishes, The Mallard Team

We went for a mothers day carvery. 1st of all the lady serving the food was full if cold, and constantly sniffling and sneezing. Not once did she wash her hands, nor was she wearing gloves or a mask. Secondly the carvery food was absolutely awful. The meat was extremely well done, veg was mash and a lot of it was frozen food! It's gone down hill MASSIVELY, a real shame as the Mallard used to do a lovely carvery. Thirdly we asked for x2 biscoff cookie pie sharers, they forgot to put in the biscoff. We will not be returning for food, unless they make drastic improvements. 1 positive- the beer garden is lovely and perfect for the children to play on the play area.

The food was beautiful and plenty of options on the carvery, both meat and vegetables. The puddings were also beautiful when we got them after waiting 45 minutes and having to ask 2 servers to be told the order hadn't been sent through.

Dear Lynsey, Thank you for your kind words about our carvery and puddings. We're pleased you enjoyed the food. However, we apologise for the delay with your desserts and any inconvenience caused. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll work on improving our service. Best regards, The Mallard Team

It's our second visit and it didn't disappoint. The beef was cooked to perfection, delicious cauliflower cheese. Lovely friendly staff that served us immediately. We won't go anywhere else now of Sunday carvery.

Went for the Carvary on Sunday 4th Nov. the lady that waited on us was absolutely amazing! She made us feel so welcome - very attentive. The drinks came quickly and my daughters fish and chips came out quickly too, that was average. The carvary was lovely - the beef was a little dry but the gammon and all the trimmings made up for it. Really good value for money - there was 5 of us and the bill came to £80 - x2 drinks each and my two kids had a pudding each. Good value in our opinion.

We booked a table on the pub website. When we arrived, they had no record of our booking. My husband myself and my dad had taken my mum out for lunch. She’s in a care home. So we don’t get to do this very often. My mum was in her wheelchair as she has mobility issues. The waitress was lovely, but that was the only positive. Three of us had a carvery the meat was dry and tasteless, and most of the veg was undercooked. We ordered desserts and were told the cheesecake was sold out two of us chosen this, Then they came back to us and told us it was available. The cheesecakes were brought out after 10 minutes of ordering and we were told the two crumbles were just browning. We waited a further 15/20 minutes for the crumbles. The tables are around us were complaining about issues with food. The waitress was lovely and was very apologetic. She looked very embarrassed to be honest. When the crumbles finally came out, they were stone cold in the middle and warm around the edge, The waitress came over as she could see would not eaten them and asked it they were okay. I said no, they were cold and by that point I’ve had enough, As our whole experience had been ruined. My mum left And as I went to take her in a wheelchair, they had blocked off the access disabled toilet door with a couple sat eating. The couple then had to be moved, and even then it was a struggle to get my mum in a wheelchair through the narrow corridor between two doors. I couldn’t take her out of one entrance and the other instead as the entrance had steps. In the toilet, the handrail next to the toilet wouldn’t come down. The toilet roll holder was loose and kept coming off every time he tried to dispense toilet roll. It was another struggle To get my mum’s chair out of the disabled toilet door and try and open the Next door with clearance to get back into the pub. The disabled access and facilities in this pub is very poor and shocking for this day and age. We will not be visiting again.

It’s a shame to give one star as it was a truly awful experience. Booked on 23rd then I received a reminder on 25th Arrived at the booked time of 7.30 and walked straight into a 30th birthday party taking over a large part of the pub. Advised the person behind the bar of our arrival and she said I tried to call you today to tell you about the party but it just rang out. I do not answer unknown callers and no message was left for me to call back. At that point we decided to stay and were told to go to any table at the back of the pub. We were looking at the menu and there was something I wanted clarification on, so I asked a young lady who confirmed she worked at the pub the question. She did look a bit confused and said well the kitchen is closed. I was absolutely furious- felt really stupid . The woman from behind the bar materialised and asked what was happening and announced that she was the landlady and that the kitchen was open ( although it was in darkness) She appeared to blame me for not answering her call earlier in the afternoon and actually said well I wasn’t going to turn down a party in favour of you. That’s great customer service- NOT Needless to say we left, so no we didn’t have a meal that I’d booked for my birthday. I doubt I will get any follow up from anyone from Open Table. I certainly won’t be darkening the door of that place again

I was disappointed with some items of food at the carvery. Veg was either overcooked or very undercooked. Pigs in blankets were not very nice sausages and we paid extra for those!
