   Loved it! Beautiful decor and fantastic customer service. The food was delicious, so scrumptious! Highly recommend!

   Excellent meal staff very friendly especially our waitress. Would definitely recommend this place to friends. I had the fish and chips which was possibly the best fish and chips I have had.

   Amazing! The older gentleman was our waiter and he was so friendly and helpful, we got complimentary Prosecco to celebrate our engagement! Thank you!

   Couldn't fault anything. Food and service great. Would definitely recommend Sunday lunch.

   Great food especially the fish and chips. But the real fish (halibut) was also fantastic. Children's meal was completely scoffed by a very fussy eater.

   Did not expect us despite our confirmation from Open Table. Asked where we wanted to sit even though the booking process gives you 3 choices of different seating. So we chose our selection from open table but clearly it was not set for dinner since they were not expecting us. The place lacks identity - confusing Thai influences around the place but not a Thai restaurant? Menu mentions pensioners portions which made it feel like a cruise ship? This is second time we have tried it as a local but we won’t be back in afraid.

   Awful service, and terrible food. On arrival I asked what dark beers they had, to be told by the owner/manager, guy that was in charge anyway, that they didn't have any on draft so I asked about bottles, again being told that they didn't have any. Whilst looking at the wine list he returned to the table with a selection of bottled beer. We ordered food, going for the roasts that were on the reduced Mother's Day menu, which wasn't mentioned on the website. I ordered a second bottle of the same beer only to be told that they had only had one in the first place, not saying so as quite obviously I might have had more than one isn't great service. After approximately half an hour of waiting with no news of the food, we enquired to be told by a waiter, that the order had been lost and had only just been started. I used to manage restaurants myself, 'lost' means forgotten about. there were only three other tables in, so they weren't exactly busy. Nothing was offered as compensation for this basic error apart from the waiters apologies, he wasn't his fault to be fair, the order had been taken by the owner/manager. The food eventually arrived at least 45 mins after having been ordered, it was not worth the wait. The meat was at best tepid to cold and very fatty, the veg and gravy cold, basically inedible, especially galling after such a long wait. The same waiter was the one who came across, he was apologetic and took the food away, we asked for the bill as we were going to eat elsewhere now. The food wasn't on the bill, good as none of it had been eaten, but no drinks were taken off. Throughout all this the owner/manager was nowhere to be seen leaving the new waiter to clear up his mistake. Personally I'd have been mortified and would've been straight over to the table, or offered gratis drinks, but he preferred to hide. Really lovely place when it was Sasso, hopeless now though, shame as there is a lot of potential for the premises. I won't return to The Lodge.

    Both Steaks were full of grizzle and chewy and prawn cocktail sauce was watery. Prawns were not fresh. Would not recommend and will not be going back

    Thank you for your review, we take on board all comments, the Steaks are Sirloin and do contain some fat, we would have replaced them if they were not to your liking. We want all guests to enjoy their experience at the lodge, we hope you will come back and try our new menu soon
