Average food, very expensive for what it was, and a fairly dingy old room with little atmosphere. Scones were quite dry, cakes not bad, tea was good, but for nearly £200 for two, I was disappointed.

Disappointing experience with afternoon tea. If it’s afternoon tea for two, you only get one set of desserts to share between the two. But you’ll pay full price for both. It’s an odd rule and one I haven’t come across when I’ve had afternoon tea here before. They did bring out extra desserts when I queried this. For the price you pay - which is not far off afternoon tea at a five star hotel - it’s not value for money. I found the service a bit lacklustre as well.

As first-time visitors to London, we felt compelled to experience afternoon tea. I am delighted that we selected The Library. It boasted breathtaking views, courteous staff (Alejandro and Tetiana), excellent cuisine, and an elegant, upscale library ambiance. We perused reviews suggesting that the food portions were insufficient, which I find perplexing, as my husband and I were unable to finish the ample offerings. The scones were exceptionally fresh and delectable. We opted for the Gin afternoon tea, and the beverages were refreshing. Our chosen tea flavors were the Bora Bora and The County Hall, both of which were delicious. We will undoubtedly return on our next visit to London. Thank you!!
