About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for groups
The Kilcot Inn was built in the 1690’s although there has been a dwelling here since the 1530’s. The Kilcot has a long and varied history but we know the building was initially built by Thomas Davis (b.1654.)

Recently, the Inn had fallen into disrepair and had become derelict. It was bought by a local businesswoman, Mrs. Thomas.

It was slowly refurbished to an excellent standard by the whole Thomas family, including Mr. Thomas, a builder, and her son, who worked on the site for the whole project.

The Kilcot Inn is now proud to offer award winning food and 4* Gold rated rooms- and are thrilled to be the next chapter in the history of The Kilcot Inn.

We booked a table for 3 on a Saturday night. The starters were mediocre in quality, and despite half the main courses being curries, they had run out of rice. We then had to wait at least an hour for our mains. My fish curry with cheese paratha was very good, but my husband’s steak main was just ok, and my son’s belly pork was quite poor. The pub was not full in any way, and the apology for the delay was put down to a large table (around 8-10 people) all having curries. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant while not being obtrusive. The food was very pleasant and ideal for lunch. There was good choice. The Inn is a very attractive place in which to eat, with plenty of parking space.

Well-renovated old pub with character set back from the road. Very friendly welcome, nice variety on the menu, expertly prepared food (especially the fresh vegetables), delicious Italian lager (Poretti). Good parking.

We’ve been here several times over the years and to be honest was a little disappointed in both food and service, restaurant wasn’t as busy as previous evening visits, a couple of starters not available so we decided not to bother, mains took ages to Come, although young waitress did come and tell us it would be another 10-15 minutes as kitchen busy ! Yeah doing takeaway orders rather than restaurant orders leaving customers waiting, when good did arrive it wasn’t that good

Sunday roast was fairly nice but portion sizes were small. Stuffing balls were rock hard, no exaggeration, half the table couldn’t physically eat them. This could have been forgiven if the service was good but the service was awful. The young lady that attended to our table was short and sharp with her attitude and all but threw our plates on the table. We remained friendly and polite but she was Very unfriendly and made the whole experience uncomfortable.
