The Private Room at The Ivy Chelsea Garden seats 30 on one long table, or 24 on three round tables of 8, and is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks and canapé receptions for 50 guests, 7 days a week.Decorated in a similar style to The Ivy Chelsea Garden, the walls of The Private Room are adorned with colourful vintage botanical prints and sumptuous floral artwork. The bespoke patterned white Carrara and Fior de Pesco grey marble tiled flooring, eclectic mix of vintage dining chairs upholstered with bold floral and palm printed fabric and hanging gilt leaf pendants add a touch of glamour to the room.With a selection of menus available, specially created by our Executive Chef, Sean Burbidge, The Private Room is equally as suited to private parties and wedding celebrations as it is for corporate breakfasts, lunches and dinners. There is a beautiful marble top private bar decorated with bevelled antique mirror panels and trimmed brass.

A beautiful place let down by shockingly poor service. I’ve been here many times, but this visit was incredibly disappointing. We arrived right on time for our reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us or showed us to our table. From there, things only got worse. Service was virtually non-existent—we waited an hour before receiving our first dish. I asked for water; it never came. We requested bread with our starters; it never arrived. When I politely followed up, our waiter dismissed me with, “I’m busy, take it easy.” Unbelievable. If this were my restaurant, I’d be deeply concerned. It’s a stunning venue, but when the team on the floor doesn’t reflect even the most basic standards of hospitality, the experience falls flat. A great setting means nothing if the people representing it make guests feel like an afterthought.
