   We have found the Independent to be the perfect Happy Hour, Pre-play dinner, and post-play food and drinks. The beautiful woodwork and photos create a terrific atmosphere. Last year we went there three times in a seven day period and this year twice in a four day visit. There are lots of choices in NYC, but this is our favorite. The food was amazing along with terrific service. Last Tuesday we did not realize we should have made a reservation, but they managed to find us a table for our pre-play dinner. We will return next year.

   We were looking for a quick spot to grab a bite and drink between two shows on Broadway. Couldn’t have picked a better place! The ambiance was wonderful and we got a table right by the window. We enjoyed the craft cocktails and music. Our dinner was delicious...definitely try the brussel sprouts. This was a fancy bar with a great atmosphere, perfect distance to the theaters. You won’t be disappointed!

   Convenient spot in Times Square area, good for meeting a friend for lunch. Food was not memorable, although I would recommend the deviled eggs.

   Waited over 45 minutes for lunch. All the guests were very angry. The food is excellent but they need to get their act together

   Worst experience in a long time. Waited 90 mins for food during normal lunch hour. Missed meetings. Waitress lied to us all along saying food was coming right out. Many other customers were complaining and walking out. If the restaurant is having issues, they should be honest with their customers. This situation was totally mismanaged. This was a reliable place at one point. I will not return.

   I had a quick dinner at the Independent, and everything was terrific. I had the Brussels sprouts, the salmon and the red velvet cake. Each dish was delicious and the portions were quite generous. The service was great and the place has a really nice atmosphere. A very good choice if you're in or near Times Square / Bryant Park.

   the quality of the food, was more than expected in a bar setting. The Hanger Steak was particularly good, and tender. The brussel sprouts could have been a bit carmelized (personal preference perhaps), but otherwise the three starters and three mains, were all very much enjoyed. Great service.

   Service was slow. Never got my second iced tea, and we had to take our check to the cashier. May have been short staffed.
