   Excellent food and attentive service even though the restaurant was full for Mother’s Day. We were a big party of 11 and everyone was very appreciative of the food and friendly efficient staff.

   Can't fault it. We live in Highworth and had said we needed to try The Highworth at some point. Our wedding anniversary on Sunday 17th March presented itself as a good occasion and we booked for the Sunday lunch. Welcomed to the hotel, staff were very attentive and the lunch was lovely. Will definitely visit again for something else.

   We didn’t bother with a starter and went straight for main course. The belly pork with black pudding and Savoy cabbage was all nicely cooked but the gravy was too salty. We ordered sweet potato fries as a side, again very nice. For dessert creme brûlée.....yummy! Excellent service and altogether a lovely evening.

   Booked for afternoon tea and made to feel told off because booking was made online. Absolutely appalling service. Not checked on once. Selection of tea, cake etc was very minimal.

   The Highworth provided an excellent place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Excellent service. Food was excellent. Best steak I have ever had!! Have no hesitation in recommending The Highworth to others.

   Having eaten there a few times over the past few years we knew that the food would be good, and it was, but the service that we received was very poor. We arrived on time and elected to forego a drink at the bar before eating, explaining to the waiter that we were going to have a bottle of wine with lunch. We were seated in the dining room, taking the last table, and remarked that it was nice to have a full room, with different conversations and general background noises. It went downhill from there, as we sat there for a full twenty minutes without being approached by anyone, and the room gradually cleared. Just as we had decided to walk out, I was asked if I was ready to order, to which I replied by asking if they were joking! It was explained to me that they were busy, and I said that I was pleased for them, but did not think that being left for twenty minutes without a word of explanation was very good customer service and that if we had been told on arrival that they were busy, we would had a drink in the bar before lunch in order to take the strain off them. We then had our Sunday lunch and wine promptly served, but any feelings of goodwill had already left us.

   No reception on arrival. Had to ask to go to our table. Cold room. Not offered wine or wine list. Felt as though we were putting them out. Food was fine.

    Good standard of food with generous portions, prompt attentive staff. Pity the special desert which sounded very good had run out. Minor hiccup with the bill which was quickly addressed
