We are a first come first serve all day restaurant. Walk-ins of all party sizes are encouraged at any time!
Our journey started on a quiet West Village street called Carmine. Two brothers, Dave and Pete, made a bold decision. Without any business experience, any real plan, or anything resembling a thought beyond getting through the day, we opened a restaurant. What we had lacked in experience we made up for with spirit and creativity. We did not want to be businessmen. We were artists. Our little shop at 33 Carmine St. was our original canvas. We set out with a simple mission: to create a place where people would want to be. We named it after our dogs, Moose and Goose Lane.

Haven’t been to Grey Dog in years but it’s just as good as I remember from a food and atmosphere perspective. We did wait a bit before we were able to ask for our check, but otherwise customer service was great and food came out pretty quick.

The hostess was warm and sweet upon arrival. Service was quick and attentive. Food was delicious, large portions. My only critique would be instead of fries I got a salad. They placed the dressed salad in the middle of my sandwich which meant my bread had dressing and some lettuce and cucumbers ended up in my sandwich.

We had a wonderful lunch. The food was delicious. The pistachio and avocado salad was to die for. We will be back.

They made us wait over 1 hour after telling us it’d be a 10 minute wait. When we followed up, the hostess told us they gave away our table and we would have to wait again. 0/10.
